Chapter 290 The Bystander's Confusion

Jude quickly came down from upstairs after learning that Finnegan had forced Oscar to eat earthworms.
"Finnegan, how could you bully Oscar like that?" Jude was deeply concerned. "Did Oscar really eat the earthworms? Poor child, he seems to be seriously retarded."
Finnegan remained silent, but Celia spoke up, "I saw it with my own eyes. It was disgusting. I have no appetite for breakfast, still feeling like throwing up."
Old Abbott entered the house with a cane, saying, "Earthworms are good, high in protein."
Jude asked, "Mom, why are you back from outside? You wake up so early?"
"I can't sleep well at my age." Old Abbott chuckled. "I took a walk in the garden."
Old Abbott then approached Finnegan, asking, "Why hasn't Ophe come? How is she?"
"Ophe is fine," Finnegan replied. "Grandma, I have to go to the company now so I can't have breakfast with you."
Finnegan thought that letting Oscar eat a few earthworms was nothing compared to the company's loss of tens of millions due to a data leak.
"Go ahead," Old Abbott said understandingly.
After everyone left, Jude sighed, "Finnegan is still so heartless. Oscar is already simple-minded, so why still bully him? I'll go check on Oscar."
"No need. Have breakfast," Old Abbott said directly, who had just now seen what happened in the backyard, including Oscar vomiting after Finnegan left.
Jude said, "Mom, I'll go and see. Oscar must be scared." Saying that, Jude went to the backyard.
Old Abbott sighed and muttered, "Foolish."
"Mom," Celia called out, "Are you going to see Ophe today? She went for a check-up yesterday. You can ask about it."
Celia was trying to persuade her to ask.
Old Abbott, however, was quite shrewd.
Old Abbott said, "No, if you want to know, go yourself."
Celia was speechless.
Old Abbott went straight to the restaurant for breakfast.
Ophe woke up, had breakfast, and went to the Sakura Restaurant at almost noon.
It was boring to be alone at home, and she could only come to the Sakura Restaurant to pass the time.
She had just arrived when Magnus called her.
Knowing that Ophe was at the Sakura Restaurant, Magnus went there directly. They had lunch there and he subtly asked about the birthmark.
"Ophe, do you have any birthmarks on your body?" Magnus said, "I discovered a mole on my waist these past few days. I never noticed it before. It's said that people with birthmarks are being remembered by someone from their past lives, so they intentionally made a mark to be found in this life."
Ophe didn't think much of it and said, "Yes, I have a blue birthmark on my waist, the size of a thumb. It's always been there."
"Really?" Magnus felt a tightening in his heart. So, it was very likely that Ophe was the person Natalie, whom Hollis mentioned, was looking for.
Ophe said, "Yes, what's the matter? You seem surprised."
Magnus smiled. "I was just talking nonsense. I never noticed it before."
"It was small before, but it grew bigger as I got older." Ophe asked, "Do you want to order more?"
"No need. I can't finish so much."
Magnus was about to ask Ophe if she knew Natalie when Addison walked over and said, "Ophe, Natalie is here again, saying she wants to have a meal with you."
Addison's tone made it clear that it was Natalie.
Upon hearing Natalie, Magnus immediately asked, "Ophe, who is she?"
"Natalie," Ophe said, "She used to be the sister of my former boss, Chairman Dovie. I don't know why she's looking for me. This is the second time, and it's really strange."
Hearing the name Natalie, Magnus became even more certain that this Natalie was Ophe's mother, who had come several times to confirm Ophe's identity.
Magnus also wanted to meet Natalie and find out if she really acknowledged Ophe as her daughter. So he said, "Let her come and join us for the meal. It's really impolite to refuse your former boss's sister."
Ophe looked at Magnus with a puzzled look, saying, "You're acting a little strange today. This Natalie seems a bit odd, and I don't really want to get involved."
After boss's baby, she Escape
