Chapter 699 Finnegan Has Changed
As long as Ophelia came back, Finnegan wouldn't ask for anything else. He didn't even hope to return to their old life so quickly.
Caspian drank too much, so Finnegan set him up in the guest room.
When Lily got back to the Parks Estate, Wilder suggested they return to Country F.
Having lost Ophelia once, he couldn't bear the thought of it happening again. In Wilder's mind, the only way to protect her was to go back to Country F and stay by her side.
Lily shook her head. "I don't want to go back to Country F. I'm afraid I won't get used to it. Wilder, let's talk about it later."
Katherine chimed in, "Wilder, don't be too anxious. Let's wait until Ophelia recovers. Ophelia, you should go rest in your room. It's the second room on the left upstairs. The maid has already tidied it up."
"Thank you," Lily said politely before heading upstairs.
Wilder watched her go, feeling relieved. "Ophelia is finally back."
Katherine nodded. "Yes, now you can relax. But taking Ophelia back to Country F needs to be done gradually, don't rush it."
"Yeah, I was too anxious," Wilder admitted. His relationship with Katherine had improved a lot.
After all, they had been married for decades and had a son together. Some feelings would slowly be accepted over time.
Lily locked the door as soon as she got to her room. Only then did she feel safe.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Gavin.
Lily answered, "Gavin."
"Lily, are you okay?" Gavin asked. "Did you meet anyone from the Abbott family?"
Gavin had called earlier to let her know Finnegan had found his way to the family.
"Yes," Lily said. "I met them today. We had dinner at the Abbott Estate, and now I'm back at the Parks family. Gavin, take good care of Dad."
Gavin assured her, "Don't worry about things at home. I've got it covered."
After the call, Lily took out some medication from her bag. It was for her heart surgery recovery and needed to be taken for another six months.
After taking the medication, Lily felt a bit drowsy. Everyone she faced now was a stranger to her, but she had to try to accept them.
The next day, Finnegan arrived early in the morning. When Lily came downstairs, she saw Finnegan and Wilder chatting.
"Ophelia." Finnegan immediately stood up when he heard her. "You're awake. You must be hungry. The maid is almost done with breakfast."
Wilder glanced at Finnegan, who had already said everything he wanted to say.
Wilder also stood up, looking at her with loving eyes. "Ophelia, did you sleep well last night?"
"Very well," Lily said, then looked at Finnegan. "Good morning."
A very polite greeting.
"Good morning." Finnegan was overjoyed.
In front of Lily, Finnegan wouldn't be aloof. The current Finnegan was just an ordinary man who wanted to make Ophelia happy.
He would agree to anything Ophelia said.
The maid came over and said to Wilder, "Sir, breakfast is ready."
Before Wilder could speak, Finnegan said to Ophelia, "Ophelia, let's go have breakfast."
Wilder was left speechless.
Finnegan led Lily to the dining room. Katherine smiled and pulled Wilder along. "Are you jealous of Finnegan? After Ophelia's accident, Finnegan had been down for half a year. Now that Ophelia is back, of course, he's excited. Let him have his moment."
Wilder snorted, "He didn't protect Ophelia well before, and now he wants to show off."
Breakfast was abundant. As Wilder and Katherine walked to the dining room, Finnegan had already poured milk for Lily and added sugar into it.
Lily felt a bit embarrassed. "I can do it myself."
"I'll do it." Finnegan handed the milk to Lily. "Ophelia, after breakfast, let's go out for a walk to the places we used to go on dates. You'll remember soon."
Lily could feel Finnegan's deep affection. Anyone with such a perfect husband would be very happy.
Lily didn't refuse and said, "Okay."
Wilder was a bit displeased, thinking Finnegan was clearly here to compete with him for Ophelia.
He had just brought her back last night, and now Finnegan was here early in the morning, ready to take her away.
