Chapter 408 Betrayal

When Morgan saw Finnegan's cards, his face turned green.
To be safe, Morgan had already arranged for Finnegan's cards to be swapped.

The dealer was his man, and the cards dealt to Finnegan were all pre-arranged. Finnegan couldn't possibly get good cards.
Morgan glanced at the dealer, who lowered his head in fear.
Morgan didn't dare question whether Finnegan was cheating, as doing so would have called the fairness of the game into question.

Morgan had no choice but to continue gambling.
"One more round, deal the cards." Morgan said, no longer as arrogant as before.
It was now a tie, 1:1.

If Finnegan won one more round, the game would be over.
Morgan secretly signaled to the dealer, who blinked in acknowledgment.
The dealer shuffled and dealt the cards, and everyone present was tense. Atticus's clothes were soaked in sweat.

The bodyguards on both sides remained still, maintaining a state of alert until their masters gave orders.

Three cards were dealt in front of each player. This time, Morgan didn't rush to reveal his cards, as these cards would decide life and death.
Morgan took a sip of water to calm himself before reaching out to look at his cards, three kings.

Morgan was delighted. "Finnegan, let's see how you win this time. Unless you have three aces, you're done for. It's over."
Morgan revealed his cards, grinning widely.

Atticus's legs went weak. "It's over, Finnegan."

The probability of getting three aces was lower than winning the lottery, especially since this was Morgan's territory.

Finnegan stood up and extinguished his cigarette. "It is over."

Finnegan calmly revealed his cards, three aces, beating Morgan's hand.

Seeing the cards on the table, Morgan's face changed drastically, and he angrily slammed the table. "Impossible!"

"Finnegan, you won." Atticus said happily.

Morgan glared at the dealer with murderous intent. "How did you deal with the cards? Useless fool."

In a fit of rage, Morgan shot the dealer dead.

Clearly, Morgan was about to cheat.

Atticus was terrified and looked at Finnegan. "Finnegan."
Despite his fear, Atticus had no intention of fleeing.
Finnegan remained calm, but the murderous intent in his eyes grew stronger.
"Morgan, you're dead."

"This is my territory. No one can harm me."

Morgan reneged and pulled the trigger on Finnegan.

Finnegan had anticipated this and was prepared. He only needed a reason to kill Morgan openly.

Finnegan moved quickly, causing Morgan's shot to miss. The gunfire triggered the bodyguards on both sides to act.

Morgan tried to fire again, but Finnegan leaped over the table and kicked the gun out of his hand.

Before Morgan could react, Finnegan's next attack was already upon him. A sharp dagger slashed his throat.

Finnegan then picked up the gun from the ground and fired three warning shots into the air. "Stop! Morgan is dead. Are you still willing to die for a dead man?"

Morgan's subordinates, seeing their boss dead, ceased their resistance, unwilling to make a futile sacrifice.

Atticus stood frozen, shocked. In the blink of an eye, Finnegan had killed Morgan.
Morgan, thought to be a king, turned out to be just an ordinary man.

Morgan's age and lack of discipline had taken a toll on his body, making him slower than Finnegan.

Finnegan had come to kill Morgan.

With Morgan dead, the underground casino descended into chaos, and someone would inevitably seize the opportunity to take over.

But the future of the underground casino was no longer Finnegan's concern.
Finnegan coldly ordered his subordinates, "Find Mary and bring her to me within half an hour."

With that, Finnegan left the underground casino and no one stopped him. Morgan had lost. This was a life-and-death game, and those were the rules.

Atticus followed, wiping his cold sweat. "Finnegan, you were really lucky. My heart almost jumped out of my chest in that last round."
"Lucky?" Finnegan sneered, "If it were luck, I'd be dead in there."

"It wasn't luck." Atticus guessed boldly, full of admiration. "Finnegan, you're the reincarnation of the God of Gamblers."

Finnegan was speechless.
"The dealer took a bribe from me."

Atticus suddenly understood that it was a bribe to the dealer.
"Morgan never expected that his subordinate would betray him, that the dealer would switch the cards." Atticus said. "Finnegan, what will you do with Mary? The case isn't over yet. If something happens to Mary, you might be suspected."
After boss's baby, she Escape
