Chapter 769 The Memorial Service

The helicopter touched down in Yorkhaven, landing in Finnegan's backyard. He stepped out, holding the urn.

"Ophelia, we're home," he whispered gently.

The others followed. Jude had already arranged the memorial at the Abbott Estate.

After a year, Ophelia was finally back, but in such a sad way.

Jude waited at home. Seeing Finnegan with the urn made him realize Ophelia was really gone. Celia's call was true.

News of Ophelia's death spread quickly, shocking everyone. No one believed she was gone.

To outsiders, Ophelia had survived a shipwreck.

Landon and Raymond rushed to the Abbott Estate upon hearing the news.

A coffin was in the hall, with Ophelia's urn inside.

Finnegan had a pastor pray for Ophelia, hoping she'd find peace in heaven.

Reporters wanted to interview the Abbott family but couldn't get in.

When Raymond and Landon arrived, Tate explained everything to them.

Finnegan stayed by Ophelia's urn, looking calm but everyone was anxious. They feared it was the calm before the storm.

Finnegan knelt in front of Ophelia's portrait, praying with the pastors.

Eli came too, following Francis.

When Eli got tired, Celia had the nanny take him away to rest. Passing through the garden, Eli saw a girl poking at something with a stick.

Eli walked over and called out to her, "It's you."

He recognized Warmie, the cute girl he had met before.

More than half a year had passed, but Warmie hadn't changed much.

Warmie didn't remember Eli. She was clearing obstacles for ants with the stick.

"What are you doing?" Eli asked, squatting down.

"Helping the ants get home," Warmie said sweetly.

Eli, older and wiser from growing up in a monastery, knew Warmie wouldn't have a mother anymore, just like him.

He gently patted her shoulder. "Warmie, I'll protect you from now on."

Warmie didn't understand but smiled and kept playing.

The memorial was in the front hall. Celia didn't let Warmie attend the memorial, fearing it would upset her.

Ophelia's ashes stayed at home for seven days. Finnegan never left them.

He watched over the urn by day and slept beside the coffin at night.

The cemetery plot was ready. After seven days, Finnegan took Ophelia's ashes to be buried.

Ophelia's grave was next to Dovie's. In those seven days, Finnegan had lost a lot of weight, looking almost unrecognizable.

On the burial day, the weather was gloomy. At six in the morning, they headed to the cemetery.

Wilder, grieving his daughter, needed Katherine's support to walk.

Tate, Lynn, and Addison, dressed in dark clothes, came to pay their respects.

Finnegan carried Ophelia's portrait. As the coffin was lowered, everyone mourned.

Nearly a hundred people came to say goodbye. The occasion was silent, solemn, and dignified.

Warmie stood beside Finnegan. Though young, she understood her mother was in the coffin and now a star in the sky. These people were here to see her mother off.

Everyone felt for Finnegan and Warmie, who lost her mother so young.

In the midst of everything, Tate noticed the spot next to Ophelia's grave was empty. She couldn't help wondering who it was for.

After boss's baby, she Escape
