Chapter 185 Sending to Jail
Finnegan walked toward Ophe and ranked through her hair. "Everyone has to pay the price for their own mistakes."
Ophe analyzed. "Your original aim was to send her to jail, right? Then, you brought Niamh here because you were worried about Chairman Dovie. You wanted her to give the order, right?"
Finnegan smiled. "Honey, you're quite smart. That's right, we need Dovie's approval and her involvement for this plan to work. Paxton will face a heavier punishment, starting at a minimum of three years, while Niamh will be detained for fifteen days."
"Only fifteen days?" Ophe asked.
Finnegan explained, "If we want to pursue the matter, Niamh should be detained for at least a year. However, considering the relationship between the two families and Niamh being Grandpa Zhao's descendant, we can't go too far. This time, we'll give Niamh a lesson."
Dovie wouldn't actually keep Niamh in jail for a year. They just needed to achieve the goal of teaching her a lesson, or else the two families would truly have a falling out.
Of course, Finnegan wasn't afraid of causing a rift between the families. He respected Dovie and didn't want to go to extremes, partially because of Old Abbott.
Ophe nodded. "I understand. Actually, this is already good enough. Even if it's just fifteen days, it will be painful for Niamh. By the way, what's the story between your grandmother and Uncle Abbott? I often hear your grandmother talk about Uncle Abbott. Why didn't they end up together back then?"
Ophe was genuinely curious.
Finnegan said, "I don't know the details very clearly, but Uncle Abbott and my grandfather were good friends. It seems that my grandmother mistakenly thought Uncle Abbott had passed away. At that time, there were problems in my grandmother's family, so she was forced to marry my grandfather. On the wedding day, Uncle Abbott came back, but it was too late for everything."
"That's quite unfortunate." Ophe felt regretful. "Your grandmother had Alzheimer's disease, but she never forgot about Uncle Abbott. It's evident that she truly loved him."
Finnegan hugged Ophe around the waist and said, "That's why my grandmother and Uncle Abbott arranged a marriage for the future generations, hoping to make up for their regrets. However, Aunt Zhao and my dad didn't like each other, so they relied on the grandchildren instead."
While speaking, Finnegan's hands became restless, slowly moving toward Ophe's buttocks...
Ophe slapped his hand and said, "You're so frivolous..."
"Ophe, how about doing some push-ups?" His hand slipped inside her clothes.
Finnegan sealed her lips with a kiss.
The passionate scene continued for an hour.
Ophe was also amazed. Finnegan was good at physical exercise in bed.
Ophe didn't need to go to work at the company anymore on the following day. With things in such a mess, how could she still go to Parks Corporation?
She sent a resignation letter to Dovie's mailbox.
Dovie agreed. Ophe was Finnegan's wife, and with such an incident happening, if Ophe still stayed in the company, that would make Ophe awkward because Niamh held a grudge against her. Dovie even supplemented Ophe's half-year salary from her account. Ophe didn't hesitate and accepted it.
Ophe had to admit that Dovie was really considerate and had great foresight. After Niamh was taken to the police station, Dovie didn't contact Abbott's Family again.
This time, Ophe was truly unemployed. She started considering Finnegan's suggestion about starting her own business.
Ophe planned to open a Japanese restaurant. She loved Japanese food and had always dreamed of running her restaurant and being a boss.
Now, she could make that dream come true.
Ophe started looking for a store and a house. She intended to buy a second-hand house to give to Magnus, as he cared about his reputation and wouldn't want to trouble her in any way. So, she decided to buy the house in advance.
Ophe had discussed this matter with Finnegan, and he had no objections. He gave Ophe the money, and how she wanted to spend it was her freedom.
Ophe spent a week looking and bought a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house. She was preparing to meet Magnus when she suddenly received a call from the hospital.
