Chapter 602 Barely Made It Through
In the Abbott family, Finnegan was a bit surprised to learn that Tate had been taken by CTU.
But this might not necessarily be a bad thing.
With Tate in Raymond's hands, the chances of anyone from Moonlight Gate rescuing her were slim.
But once inside the counter-terrorism unit, Tate would likely face intense interrogation.
Finnegan couldn't bail Tate out, and it was impossible to ask them for Tate just because she had previously been Ophelia's bodyguard.
Lloyd had just finished dinner when he learned of Tate's capture, and he was alarmed.
Raymond had been targeting Moonlight Gate for years, and now that Tate was in Raymond's hands, which posed a significant threat to Moonlight Gate.
Back at his residence in City N, Lloyd found Aria and Anthony waiting respectfully.
Lloyd's tone was stern as he said, "Aria, Tate must be dealt with swiftly. You have three days."
Aria's eyes flickered with nervousness at his words. "Master, Tate has lost her memory. For them, she's useless. There's no need to eliminate her. I'll find a way to rescue her."
She couldn't bear to harm Tate.
Anthony, standing nearby, remarked cynically, "Master, asking Aria to handle Tate, given their sisterly bond, will she be able to complete the task? I fear she might deceive us."
Aria shot Anthony a cold look. "Anthony, shut up."
In Moonlight Gate, a higher rank was dominant.
Aria outranked Anthony.
Anthony, gloating, also shut his mouth.
Lloyd's face darkened. "Aria, this is an order. You must succeed. Failure is not an option. We cannot gamble with the entire Moonlight Gate."
"Yes, Master," Aria said expressionlessly. "I will complete the task."
Lloyd waved his hand. "Dismissed."
Aria left, leaving Anthony alone.
Approaching Lloyd, Anthony said, "Master, Aria won't harm Tate. Should I go instead?"
Lloyd naturally wouldn't send only Aria. He knew exactly what she was thinking.
He was merely testing Aria.
Lloyd nodded. "Make sure Tate is silenced forever."
He was somewhat reluctant to discard this pawn.
Tate was one of his most skilled disciples, her soft heart both a fatal flaw and one of his favorite traits.
From ruthless training, stepping over countless bodies, she had somehow retained her kindness, impressing him.
"Master, rest assured, I will complete the task," Anthony said proudly, having gained his master's favor.
If he completed this task, his rank would rise by another level.
That same night, Tate endured severe interrogation. Despite her memory loss, she couldn't fabricate any information.
Tate wouldn't speak, so Raymond would only use harsher methods.
In Raymond's eyes, Moonlight Gate assassins were utterly evil and must not be shown any mercy. These people had very tight lips, and without extreme measures, it was impossible to get them to talk.
Strapped into a chair, a helmet secured to her head, Tate felt as though her soul were leaving her body as electric currents coursed through her.
Despite the entire night of interrogation, Raymond still couldn't get Tate to talk or reveal any information.
Even though Tate had lost her memory, her endurance was trained. No matter what methods were used on her, she could withstand them.
This resilience shocked Raymond.
She was the longest-lasting Moonlight Gate assassin he had ever captured.
The others couldn't endure and chose to commit suicide.
That was Moonlight Gate's death order. Once captured by the police, they had end their own lives, or a comrade would help them do it.
Drenched in sweat, Tate looked like she'd been pulled from water. She truly didn't know the answers.
No matter how Raymond questioned her, Tate only said, "I don't know."
Tate fainted for the third time, passing out right after speaking.
Dawn was approaching.
Jerry Allen, Raymond's colleague, asked, "Mr. Stewart, should we continue?"
To be honest, Jerry had seen the interrogation all night. He was starting to feel a bit sympathetic and couldn't take it anymore.
Looked at the unconscious Tate on the ground, Raymond thought of his long-lost sister, and steeled himself. "Continue."
