Chapter 354 Finnegan is About to Take Action
Seraphina's death was a huge blow to Ophelia.
After returning to Rose Garden, Ophelia fell ill that very afternoon, suffering from a persistent low fever and body aches.
Because she was pregnant and had a low fever, Ophelia couldn't take any medication and had to endure it on her own.
Finnegan stayed by her side, temporarily delegating company matters to his subordinates.
He held her, silently accompanying and comforting her.
Ophelia slept fitfully, constantly dreaming of her childhood.
When she saw Seraphina's body, she realized that no matter how significant the grudges in this world, they were insignificant in the face of death.
The things people are entangled with and can't let go of become meaningless once they die. People only have everything when they are alive.
If you asked Ophelia if she hated Seraphina, it seemed she didn't harbor any hatred anymore.
Death extinguished all, and Ophelia couldn't remember the bad things Seraphina had done. She only remembered the days when they shared a bed and clothes, relying on each other for survival.
Magnus came to Rose Garden immediately after seeing Seraphina's corpse at the police station.
Finnegan went downstairs and signaled Magnus not to disturb Ophelia.
Finnegan said, "She's not feeling well and needs rest. Whatever you have to say, say it to me."
Magnus, feeling heavy-hearted, said, "I just came back from the police station. I know about Seraphina. How did things turn out this way? Who harmed Seraphina?"
"The police are still investigating." Finnegan said with a serious expression. "I can't answer your question."
"Seraphina did make a mistake this time, but she didn't deserve to die. She worked for you for some time after all, Finnegan. How could you really send her to the police station?" Seraphina's death had also shaken Magnus's rationality, making him emotional.
Hearing this, Finnegan's face immediately darkened, and his tone grew colder. "Are you implying that Ophelia and I caused Seraphina's death?"
Realizing his mistake, Magnus explained guiltily, "That's not what I meant."
That was exactly what he meant actually. When Finnegan questioned him, he lost the courage to blame him.
"You don't need to see Ophelia." Finnegan said coldly. "Seraphina was nothing more than a stranger to me. Whether she lived or died had nothing to do with me. As she targeted Ophelia, sending her to jail was already lenient. Now that she's dead, it's her fault. It has nothing to do with Ophelia and me. Don't use some bullshit friendship to moralize us."
Finnegan was furious, his tone heavy, and his face ugly.
To Finnegan, Magnus was someone who couldn't see things clearly.
Finnegan had already issued an eviction order so that Magnus couldn't stay any longer.
Seraphina's death quickly reached Natalie's ears, and she hurriedly called Dovie, who was still at the hospital taking care of Old Abbott.
After receiving the call, she felt even more worried.
'Seraphina's death was not a good thing, which meant that another life was added to Niamh's burden.' Dovie thought.
Dovie instinctively believed that Seraphina's death was related to Niamh.
However, Natalie was happy on the phone, saying, "Seraphina is dead, and with no evidence, Niamh will be fine."
As the only witness was dead, and without concrete evidence, the law couldn't punish Niamh. But that didn't mean Finnegan couldn't.
"That's just your assumption." Dovie said in a low voice. "I'm at the hospital taking care of Old Abbott. Keep an eye on the police station. If Niamh gets out, bring her home immediately, and don't cause any more trouble."
If no evidence were found to charge Niamh within twenty-four hours, the police would have to release her.
Natalie didn't realize the seriousness of the situation and thought Niamh would be fine.
But Dovie was even more worried. If Old Abbott didn't help, the next one to die might be Niamh.
Finnegan would have a hundred ways to make Niamh disappear without a trace.
After hanging up the phone, Dovie returned to the hospital room, looking anxiously at Old Abbott. "Old Abbott, Seraphina, who drugged you, died in the detention center last night. You've watched me grow up. I've never asked you for anything, but today, I beg you to save Niamh. I'm worried something will happen to her."
Whether Niamh could get out or not, Finnegan would find a way.
So Dovie was desperate.
She knelt directly in front of the hospital bed. "Old Abbott, Niamh is a descendant of the Parks Family. You can't just watch her get into trouble. As the Parks Family has only one heir left, if something happens to Niamh, I can't face George in heaven."
Dovie had no choice but to plead with Old Abbott using the deceased George.
