Chapter 623 Fell into the Trap

Finnegan wished he could bring Warmie back immediately. He put down the binoculars, donned the mask he had bought earlier, and left the hotel.

Lloyd went to the old house in Riway Village, while Finnegan was waiting for an opportunity.

Warmie was very quiet along the way. When they reached their destination, Lloyd placed her in a stroller and pushed it himself.

He never let Warmie out of his sight, which made Finnegan, who couldn't find an opportunity, quite frustrated.

He couldn't follow too closely and had to stop outside Riway Village.

Lloyd took people into Riway Village to reclaim the old house.

Meanwhile, Tate had been waiting for the person in the shadows to appear in Yorkhaven.

She knew she was being watched, but that person had yet to show up.

Raymond, following Tate's instructions, checked the building across the street but found nothing unusual or suspicious.

Raymond didn't dare to be careless, worried that something might happen to Tate.

Tate glanced at the time. When it got dark, she put on a mask and went out. She didn't drive but strolled leisurely, first wandering around the neighborhood, then leaving to go to a nearby supermarket to buy some things.

Tate didn't hurry back but sat on a bench by the river, where there were a few people taking evening walks.

She pretended to tie her shoelaces, and in that instant, she sensed someone behind her.

Instinctively, she dodged, and the person behind her missed their strike.

"Quick reflexes."

It was a woman's voice.

She was wearing a mask, disguised.

Seeing clearly, Tate was about to strike when the other person said, "Tate, it's me, Aria."

Aria took off her mask. "It's normal that you don't remember me since your memory was wiped. I stole this antidote from the headquarters. If you take it, your memory will gradually return."

Aria took a bottle of medicine from her pocket.

Tate didn't take it. She really couldn't remember Aria and said expressionlessly, "Why should I believe you? You've been watching me from that building across the street these past two days."

Tate thought the people from Moonlight Gate were likely here to harm her.

"Yes, it was me," Aria said. "You have to believe me, Tate. You don't have to trust anyone else, but you must trust me. I would never harm you. I thought you could live an ordinary life without your memory, but I didn't expect you to fall into Raymond's hands. Lloyd has ordered people to silence you. You're in great danger now. He has sent many people to track you down. I need you to regain your memory quickly."

Aria urgently handed the medicine to Tate. "Trust me, I won't harm you."

Aria's eyes were sincere, worried that Tate wouldn't believe her.

Tate hesitantly took the medicine but didn't drink it. Instead, she asked, "You're also from Moonlight Gate. Why are you helping me?"

"I told you, in this world, you are the most important to me. Drink this, and you'll remember." Aria's eyes showed a different kind of emotion. She reached out to touch Tate's face, but Tate dodged.

Whether it was the normal Tate or the amnesiac Tate, she couldn't accept Aria's feelings for her.

"I trust you." Tate opened the bottle and drank the entire contents.

The medicine was liquid and had to be consumed entirely.

After swallowing the medicine, within seconds, Tate felt like her whole body was on fire, extremely uncomfortable, followed by severe abdominal pain.

"Tate, what's happening?" Aria saw her pale face and asked nervously, "How do you feel?"

Tate held onto the bench's armrest, her face pale. "My abdomen hurts, and my whole body feels like it's on fire."

Aria was also stunned. "How could this be? It's impossible. This is the antidote I stole from Moonlight Gate's headquarters."

As soon as she finished speaking, people swarmed from all directions. They were assassins from Moonlight Gate.

Leading them was Sarah, who was on the same level as Tate.

"Aria, Lloyd knew you would betray him. Do you think you stole the real antidote? That medicine was specially prepared by Lloyd, not for you, but for Tate. He knew you would find Tate, and having you silence her was the best outcome."

Sarah said coldly, "Aria, Tate, come back to Moonlight Gate with us."

Hearing this, Aria's face changed dramatically. She supported Tate, feeling deeply guilty. "Tate, I'm sorry."

Aria was sorry for her being careless.

Tate's abdominal pain was severe, and cold sweat kept breaking out on her forehead.

Aria was also furious. "If you think you can take us back, let's see what you've got."

With that, Aria pushed Tate away. "Run. Don't look back."
