Chapter 493 Father and Daughter Reunion

Finnegan did not stop anyone as he intentionally let Oscar take the seal.

This seal was fake, and Oscar just took a fake one and replaced it with another fake one.

He speculated last night about what Deacon had Oscar do, and now it seemed that it was to take the seal.

Finnegan could also roughly guess what Deacon wanted to do with the seal.

Finnegan watched quietly.

In the office, Jude had someone deliver a cake and didn't know what was happening. "Oscar, eat quickly."

Oscar got the seal, so he won't bother with the cake anymore.

"Uncle Jude, I want to go home. It's not fun here." Oscar tugged at Jude's clothes and acted spoiled.

Jude couldn't resist and could only agree. "Alright, go home. I'll tell Finnegan."

Impatient, Oscar urged, so Jude had Linda inform Finnegan later and took Oscar home first.

Meanwhile, after Ophelia brought Warmie home and handed her over to the nanny, she drove to the cemetery.

Wilder was absent from the wedding, definitely returning to New York, to Dovie's grave.

Sure enough, when Ophelia went to the cemetery, she saw Wilder sleeping in front of Dovie's tombstone.

It seemed he spent the night at the cemetery last night.

Ophelia walked over, and as Wilder heard footsteps, he slowly opened his eyes, looking dazed as if he saw a young Dovie walking toward him.

"Dovie," Wilder murmured unconsciously.

Love knows no boundaries. Even after more than twenty years of forgetting, when remembered, the love is as strong as ever.

Ophelia stood in front of him. "Mr. Jennings."

Wilder snapped out of it, his gaze slowly focusing. Recognizing the person in front of him, he quickly sat up. "Ophelia."

Ophelia remained silent.

Wilder wiped his face, his eyes red as he glanced at the tombstone. "The three of us reunited in this way."

After speaking, Wilder lowered his head again, hands covering his face, the pain still evident.

He wiped away the tears on his face, sitting cross-legged in front of the tombstone, a man in his fifties, crying uncontrollably in front of Ophelia.

"I once thought of waiting for Dovie to be discharged, then I would take you back to France together, but even after Dovie passed away, I couldn't take her back." Wilder looked at Ophelia. "Ophelia, I'm sorry, it's all my fault."

Wilder felt guilty, hurt, and regretful. Why did he remember so late? If only a few months earlier, he could have seen Dovie one last time.

Ophelia knelt, opening her arms to hug Wilder. "It's not your fault. It's just fate. In this lifetime, I found my mother, found you, and we have the chance to reunite as father and daughter, which is already very good."

Wilder hugged Ophelia, his daughter, whom he had only held when she was born over twenty years ago, never having the chance again.

"I'm sorry, Ophelia, I missed seeing you grow up."

Wilder couldn't make up for Dovie, but he would make it up to Ophelia, making her the most respected princess in the French royal family.

Ophelia didn't blame anyone. As things had happened, blaming people was futile.

If it hadn't been for Wilder searching for her back then, he wouldn't have had the car accident.

If blame had to be placed, it all stemmed from Natalie's jealousy.

It was Natalie's jealousy that stole her, causing their family of three to be torn apart, unable to enjoy family happiness.

"Dad, I'll take you back to where Mom used to live before." Ophelia helped Wilder up. If she hadn't come, Wilder might have stayed here forever.

One word 'Dad' brought tears to Wilder's eyes.

Upon hearing about going back to where Dovie used to live, Wilder was finally willing to leave.

Ophelia took Wilder back to the Parks family because of the changes over the years.

Even though Wilder had lived in this house before, many things had changed, and Wilder couldn't remember them all.

Seeing Ophelia bring back a foreign man, Emerson, who was almost old enough to be Ophelia's father, asked curiously, "Ophelia, who is this?"

"My dad," Ophelia said. "Just call him Mr. Jennings."

"Mr. Jennings is still alive?" Emerson was surprised. "Your mom waited half her life for Mr. Jennings, never seeing him again, and now Mr. Jennings has returned."

Surprised and saddened for Dovie, Emerson's words made Wilder feel uneasy.

Ophelia said, "Dad, Mom's room is the second one upstairs on the left. Go take a look."

This time, Ophelia didn't accompany him. She knew Wilder needed some space.

Wilder nodded and went upstairs. After he left, Ophelia asked Emerson, "Emerson, you mentioned that Niamh cooked for my mom before. Did Natalie ever eat it?"
