Linda sighed, feeling too embarrassed to stay any longer. She stood up and said to Tate, "Tay, since Raymond isn't here, we'll head back first. Come visit us at home when you have time."
"Sure." Tate stood up and said, "I will definitely visit your home."
She knew her last name was Stewart, so it was only a matter of time before she returned to the Stewart family.
Linda was particularly happy to hear this. "Great, you're always welcome."
However, Karen interpreted Tate's words differently. To her, it meant that Tate was determined to win over Raymond and become the future mistress of the Stewart family.
She thought Tate was really ambitious.
Karen sneered internally, looking down on Tate even more.
Linda took Karen and left. While in the elevator, Linda said, "Tay is so sensible. You should learn from her. Stop being so loud and impolite all the time."
"Mom, she is too scheming. Didn't you notice? She wants to join our Stewart family and can't wait to become the mistress. She's just trying to please you and put on a show for you," Karen scoffed. "I know this kind of women too well."
Linda frowned. "Where did you get these ideas? And I've heard you're always chasing after Caspian from the Hawthorne family. You're a girl; you should be more reserved. Caspian has a bad reputation. I've heard he's quite the playboy and I won't accept him."
"Mom, don't listen to those rumors. Those women are the ones throwing themselves at him. Caspian isn't a playboy; he only likes me," Karen said. "I really like him, and the Hawthorne family is a good match for our Stewart family."
"Matching is one thing, but if his behavior is problematic, it's a no-go," Linda said sternly. "Don't get involved with him. A girl's reputation is very important. Cultivate your inner self and restrain your behavior, which is more important than your appearance."
"But that Tay just moved into Raymond's house, and you praised her. I'm your daughter, and all you do is scold me." Karen said sarcastically, "Mom, why don't you just adopt Tay as your daughter? You go home; I'm going to a friend's place."
"Karen..." Linda hadn't finished speaking when Karen stormed off in a huff.
Linda sighed. "With that temper, you'll suffer in the future."
Linda could only go home by herself. After driving away, Karen still felt upset and blamed Tate for her argument with Linda. She drove around and then returned.
Meanwhile, Tate had taken off her mask and was working in her room when she suddenly noticed someone in the building opposite watching her. Her heart sank, and she drew all the curtains.
This was a killer's instinct.
Tate hid behind the curtains, observing the building opposite. Just then, the doorbell rang.
She frowned, wondering if it was someone from Moonlight Gate. Cautiously, she went to the door and saw through the peephole that it was Karen, who had returned. Tate's frown deepened.
Tate went back to her room, grabbed another mask, and put it on before opening the door.
This time, it was a different mask. Tate had changed her clothes after getting them dirty earlier, and when she opened the door, Karen was stunned.
Karen couldn't believe what she saw and asked, "Who are you now? Where's Tay?"
Tate, expressionless, lied, "She left."
"Who are you?" Karen was confused.
Tate continued to bluff, "Tay is my second sister. My name is Tia."
"How many sisters do you have? Another one?" Karen asked, wide-eyed, "You don't live with Raymond too, do you?"
Tate lied, "I have many sisters. Is there a problem?"
"No problem." Karen was too shocked to say anything. Not only did Tay have many sisters, but each one had a cold personality.
Tate shut the door directly and then called Raymond, "Karen came here again. Someone from Moonlight Gate is watching me."
She was genuinely annoyed by Karen.
Furthermore, she sensed that individuals from Moonlight Gate were tracking her. Karen's frequent visits could potentially endanger her.
Raymond understood the situation and said he would handle it. He also told Tate to be careful and that he would return soon.
Meanwhile, Ophelia, after meeting Tate, also contacted Finnegan.
