Chapter 267 The Scheme—Abortion Pill
Dovie didn't know what Natalie was thinking. She smiled and said, "Alright, I asked Little Finnegan, and he said Ophelia has the prenatal check-up next Wednesday."
Having confirmed this information, Natalie had already made up her mind, but she still said, "Dovie, you seem to be overly concerned about Ophelia."
"She's an orphan, and I've been taking care of her for so long. Besides, she's Little Finnegan's wife. I was asking casually to show some care," Dovie replied and glanced around. Then, she asked, "Natalie, have you seen Niamh? She's not at the company. Is she at home?"
Natalie also needed to find out where Niamh had gone. She was worried that Dovie would lose confidence in Niamh, so she decided to help cover up and lied, "She went to the library to do some research. Niamh has been studying diligently lately. When do you plan to hand over the company to Niamh? Your health isn't good, so you shouldn't push yourself. It's time for you to step down and take a rest."
Dovie replied anxiously, "Niamh isn't the right person for the business, although I do want her to take over. I'm also worried that such a large family business might fail in her hands. When Dad handed the company to me, I promised him that I would take good care of it."
Natalie urged, "Dovie, you just can't bear to let go. Niamh is your daughter, and the Parks Family has the potential for business. Give her a chance. With both of us watching over, the company won't run into trouble. You have to believe in Niamh."
Dovie sighed and said, "Let's take it slowly."
Before Natalie could say anything else, Dovie added, "I'm tired. I'll head upstairs and rest for a while."
Natalie didn't have another chance to speak well of Niamh. After Dovie left, she called Niamh.
She tried twice, but no one answered the call.
Meanwhile, at a riverside coffee shop, Niamh sat on a wicker chair and looked displeased at Seraphina in front of her. "Why haven't you taken action yet?"
"There was a good opportunity yesterday, but Tobias was useless. And Finnegan arrived in time so that we couldn't succeed," Seraphina replied. "Don't worry, it's still early."
"Do we have to wait until she's heavily pregnant and has the baby before we do anything?" Niamh frowned. "I think you're useless, too."
After hearing this, a surge of anger rose in Seraphina's heart. No one liked to be insulted.
However, due to Niamh's status as the heiress of the Parks Family, Seraphina suppressed her anger and said, "Ophe is wary of me. I need to make her drop her guard. Prepare the things I asked for. It would be best if you got them ready. We will need them sooner or later."
Niamh took out a bottle of pills from her bag and threw it at Seraphina. "I've prepared them a long time ago. I'm waiting for your good news."
The bottle was labeled "Vitamins," but it actually contained abortion pills.
Seraphina had used this method before, but Ophe's pregnancy turned out to be a false alarm at that time. Nevertheless, Seraphina was quick to resort to such means again.
Seraphina's jealousy toward Ophelia had long distorted her mind. The thought of Ophe having Finnegan, wealth, and soon, giving birth to his child, filled her with hatred.
Seraphina kept the bottle of pills and said, "Just wait. Once it's done, you must keep your promise to me."
"Don't worry, I won't go back on my word." Niamh then picked up her bag and left.
As Seraphina and the others left the meeting, she took out her phone from the bag. It was a recording.
Yesterday, Seraphina had learned from seeing Ophe's recording. She didn't believe Niamh's words and wanted to have some leverage, so she also made a recording as evidence.
With this recording, her future of wealth and prosperity would be secured. She wouldn’t have to worry about Niamh not giving her the money.
Seraphina concealed the abortion pills and then called Magnus.
If she wanted Ophelia to take the pills, she had to rely on Magnus.
Magnus' phone was on silent, and he didn't answer Seraphina's call. After calling him twice, Seraphina gave up and left the coffee shop.
Meanwhile, across the street, at a coffee shop, Ophelia was buying coffee with Old Abbott. As Ophelia turned around, she caught sight of Seraphina.
