Chapter 655 Mistaking the Fake for the Real

When he saw Raymond, Lloyd didn't panic at all. He didn't resist either. After glancing at the police and Finnegan, he quickly took a pill from his pocket and swallowed it.

Finnegan realized what was happening and tried to stop him, but it was too late.

The pill went down Lloyd's throat, and within seconds, he was spitting blood and died instantly, collapsing to the ground motionless.

It was so sudden that even Raymond was shocked.

Finnegan stepped forward, touched Lloyd's face, and realized it was fake.

"We've been tricked. This isn't Lloyd." Finnegan's gaze was deep and intense as he tore off the man's mask, revealing his true face.

Raymond quickly stepped forward, and upon discovering the man wasn't Lloyd, his expression became serious. "Lloyd is too cunning. It seems he saw through the trap. Catching him won't be easy."

Although they had set such a big trap, they still didn't catch Lloyd.

The people of Moonlight Gate were completely loyal to Lloyd, even willing to end their own lives to protect Moonlight Gate and Lloyd.

Finnegan was also very frustrated. "Even if it's fake, Lloyd must have come to Yorkhaven."

In a sudden realization, Finnegan's expression shifted dramatically, prompting him to swiftly retrieve his phone and dial Ophelia's number. However, his attempts were in vain as the display indicated she was out of the service area.

Finnegan then called Susan, but the result was the same.

He couldn't even reach the bodyguards at Verdant Villa.

Finnegan became extremely panicked. "Damn it, Verdant Villa, Lloyd must have gone there. Susan and Ophelia are in danger."

Saying this, Finnegan strode towards the yard. "Drive to Verdant Villa."

He was afraid that if any later, it might be too late.

Raymond too grasped the situation unfolding. It dawned on him that Lloyd had deployed a diversionary maneuver, dispatching a decoy to the Abbott family estate while he made his way to Verdant Villa.

Raymond quickly got into the car. "You placed Susan at Verdant Villa? The information was leaked?"

It must be that, otherwise,Lloyd wouldn't have found Verdant Villa.

"Don't underestimate Moonlight Gate," Finnegan cautioned as he swiftly opened the car door, climbed in without further ado, started the engine, and drove off towards Verdant Villa.

From the estate to Verdant Villa, it would take at least an hour. This hour-long drive was torture for Finnegan.

Raymond also ordered all police to head to Verdant Villa, sirens blaring.

In Verdant Villa.

Just as Finnegan had guessed, the real Lloyd had already infiltrated the villa with Moonlight Gate members.

With signal jammers in place, the surrounding signals were blocked, so Finnegan naturally couldn't get through.

Several people silently infiltrated the house, and at this moment, Ophelia was sleeping soundly with Warmie, as was Susan in the next room.

Ophelia, sensing something was wrong, suddenly opened her eyes to see two people standing in front of her.

Ophelia was shocked and instinctively protected Warmie, but the next second, she was knocked unconscious.

In the next room, Susan was also awakened from her sleep. Seeing the people in front of her, she was momentarily surprised but quickly understood who they were.

"Lloyd sent you, didn't he?" Susan said. "Is he outside?"

"Susan, come with us. the Master requests your presence." The Moonlight Gate assassin was still polite to Susan and didn't use force.

Susan was quite old, and using force might be too much for her.

Lloyd had also instructed them to ensure Susan's safety.

"What about Warmie and Ophelia?" Susan said. "Don't harm them. I'll go with you."

The assassin said coldly, "Susan, it's not up to you. The Master asked us to take three of you back. Let's go."

Susan, constrained by age, found herself unable to resist the individuals before her. Reluctantly, she trailed after them, clinging to a flicker of hope in her heart that she might yet sway Lloyd towards repentance.

When Finnegan and Raymond arrived with the police, the villa was silent. The hidden bodyguards had been dealt with, and Ophelia and Susan were gone.

Finnegan's expression was cold and grim, and he angrily punched the sofa to vent.

Raymond ordered, "Investigate immediately, quickly."

If they were even a little late, they might not catch up with the people of Moonlight Gate, making it very difficult to rescue Susan and the others.
