Chapter 383 Targeted

Ophelia's request put Atticus in a difficult position.
He knew very well how hard it was to persuade Mary, and if anything went wrong, he couldn't bear the responsibility.
"Ophelia, don't make it hard for me." Atticus said with a troubled expression. "If something happens to you, I really can't explain it to Finnegan."

"He's inside, and we don't even know if he can get out." Ophelia said firmly. "I said, if something happens, I'll take responsibility. I order you to give me Mary's information, her address and contact details."

Atticus couldn't dissuade Ophelia and eventually had to give her Mary's information.

Ophelia was anxious, but she knew that being anxious wouldn't help.
She returned to the hotel to study Mary's information and investigate the gang behind Mary, their personalities, ages, preferences, and frequent hangouts.

Ophelia spent an hour clarifying the events and gathering personal information on everyone at the dinner meeting.

Staring at Mary's photo on the table, Ophelia said, "Tate, come with me to the underground casino tonight. Find a way to meet Mary. If possible, meeting the gang leader Morgan would be even better."

The dinner meeting where Finnegan got into trouble was hosted by a multinational corporation whose boss was named Morgan Evans. Mary had only been a manager by Morgan's side for a few months.

Ophelia had a gut feeling that Mary had been targeting Finnegan for a while, and the real threat to Finnegan was this gang leader, Morgan Evans.

The underground casino's boss was Morgan.

Tate nodded. "No problem."

"There is a problem." Atticus objected. "Ophelia, you can't go to that underground casino. You and Tate are both women. That's a dangerous place, and you may get trouble there."

"From now on, I don't want to hear any objections from you." Ophelia ordered. "Prepare a car. You don't need to come with us. You've already been exposed here. Tate and I will go alone."

Atticus was surprised but had no choice but to let Ophelia take the risk.

While Atticus prepared the car, Ophelia called Old Abbott to get her permission and to prepare more money.

Going to a casino definitely meant gambling.

Old Abbott fully supported Ophelia, transferring three hundred million dollars from her private account without hesitation.

Ophelia was shocked when she saw the bank balance. She had only intended to ask Old Abbott for ten million dollars.

"Aren't you going to ask what I'm using the money for?"

"You have your reasons for taking the money." Old Abbott said. "Ophelia, take care of yourself. The money doesn't matter as long as you and Finnegan come back safely."

Ophelia said, "Don't worry, I'll take care of myself and come back with Finnegan."

After the call, Ophelia asked Tate, "Do you know how to gamble?"

Tate hesitated and shook her head. "A little."

Ophelia exhaled deeply. "Change clothes. We're leaving. You need to dress up. If you go in like this, people will get suspicious."

Tate looked down at her t-shirt and pants and asked seriously, "What should I wear then?"

"A dress."

Half an hour later.

Ophelia and Tate came out of a boutique. Ophelia, with her slightly bulging belly, could only wear a loose dress and had her hair pinned up with a hairpin.

Tate wore a black strap dress, her hair tied up high, and she looked not only beautiful but also imposing.

As night fell, the two of them arrived at the underground casino.

The casino was crowded with gamblers from all over the world. As soon as they entered, Ophelia felt a chaotic atmosphere, and people in the casino noticed her. She was targeted.
Ophelia whispered to Tate, "Be careful."

Tate also sensed the eyes in the dark and nodded to Ophelia.

Ophelia touched her belly and thought to herself. 'Baby, you have to protect Mommy. I hope everything goes smoothly today.'

It's said that pregnant women have good luck in gambling. Ophelia took a deep breath, walked to the gambling table with her belly, understood the game and rules, observed for a while, and then directly placed twenty million dollars in chips. "I bet big." she said.

She didn't have much time to waste and could only attract Morgan this way.
After boss's baby, she Escape
