Chapter 717 Evidence of Booking a Room
After Finnegan stormed out of the room, he was so mad he could feel a lump in his throat . He started coughing violently, his whole body shaking.
Nanny heard the commotion and came over. "Mr. Abbott, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Finnegan waved her off, signaling her to relax and not worry about him.
He felt drained, headed back to Warmie's bedroom.
He quietly lay down next to Warmie, looking at her peaceful sleeping face, and felt like half his pain had melted away.
Finnegan kissed Warmie’s cheek and whispered, "Warmie, did I really mess up?"
Warmie was sound asleep and couldn’t answer him.
Meanwhile, Lily, who had just had a heated argument with Finnegan, felt numb all over.
She slowly sat on the edge of the bed when her phone rang. It was the person she had just spoken to.
Lily answered coolly, "He heard it just now. Nice job."
She believed that by hurting Finnegan bit by bit, he would eventually grow to disappoint at herand hate her.
All of this was part of Lily's plan—letting Lynn see her go to the hotel with someone and making sure Finnegan overheard the phone call.
She had heard Finnegan's car returning and staged the whole scene.
Once she wore down Finnegan's patience, she would feel she had done right by that person.
After their argument, neither spoke to each other the next day.
Lily intentionally ignored Finnegan, and although he tried to talk to her several times, she wouldn’t even look at him.
Finnegan had never backed down to anyone, but in his eyes, Ophelia was his beloved.
Finnegan yielded to Lily in every way, appearing somewhat humble, which pricked Lily's heart like a needle, but she had to do it.
After their argument, Lily spent money sumptuously, swiping Finnegan's card without a second thought.
Lily bought a lot of men's items, doing it both discreetly and obviously.
Lynn had Carl keep an eye on her, and Carl discovered that Lily went to a hotel again, booking a short-stay room, and immediately reported to Lynn.
Lynn, who was performing out of town, saw the message and replied to Carl, "Keep an eye on her and see who the guy is."
Carl replied, "Don't worry, I'm on it."
Carl stayed at the hotel entrance for about an hour. Lily came out alone, and shortly after, a man in his thirties also came out, wearing casual pants and a gray t-shirt, looking clean and fresh.
Carl's gut told him this was the guy Lily was seeing.
They were cautious, coming out one after the other instead of together.
The guy looked decent, but compared to Finnegan, he was far inferior.
Carl quickly took photos and noted the guy's license plate number, planning to investigate him.
Afraid of being discovered, Carl didn't follow them further and took what he had to investigate.
At a certain club, Caspian was socializing. Ever since he realized his feelings and wanted to impress Tate, he had been working diligently.
Today, he was discussing some matters with a client, Lester. Thinking about picking up Tate from prison early the next morning, he felt excited. When signing the contract, he generously let Lester have the profit, sealing the deal.
Lester laughed and said, "Mr. Hawthorne, you're straightforward. I like your style."
Caspian smiled and said, "Making money together ensures long-term business. I don't want a one-time deal with you."
"Absolutely." Lester was also outspoken, putting his arm around Caspian's shoulder. "Mr. Hawthorne, since we're having such a good time, how about calling a couple of escorts to have some fun?"
"As long as you're interested, but I'll pass," Caspian said frankly. "I have a girlfriend keeping an eye on me."
Saying this, Caspian suddenly understood why Finnegan used Ophelia as an excuse back then. It wasn't an excuse but a source of pride.
Lester laughed. "You've switched girlfriends again? You could field a whole soccer team with your exes. When have you ever been scared of a girlfriend? Don't you have any say in the matter?"
Caspian said, "Hey, don't mess around with me. We're all guys here, we get how it works. I might've been a jerk before, but I never laid a finger on those ladies. This time it's for real. She's the one I'm gonna be with forever."
