Chapter 13 Teasing Her

Caspian couldn't hold back his laughter and let out a mouthful of wine, "Sorry, boss, I just couldn't help it."

Ophelia was being honest. She did sleep with Finnegan last time.

Finnegan didn't expect her to be so bold and would just say anything.

Suddenly, he was curious about what Ophelia would be like after she got drunk.

"Just drink," Finnegan placed the glass of wine in front of her. "Don't worry, I've got you covered. I'll be responsible for what happens next."

Ophelia didn't know what to say.

She thought, 'No, this is playing with fire.'

'You have a girlfriend. If something happens after I get drunk, I can't... How can I do such a thing!'

Ophelia waved her hand, trying to refuse him, but with one look from Finnegan, she immediately put on a smile, "Thank you, Mr. Abbott."

After all, he was the boss.

She needed this job. She would drink anything he asked her to... Wait, no, almost anything.

Ophelia took the wine glass with both her hands. She was faking a smile, which only irritated Finnegan.

He wanted to rip off her mask and see the real face beneath it.

Ophelia closed her eyes. With a resolute expression as if facing the end of the world, she gulped down the wine in one go.

It was indeed a good wine and tasted smooth with a great aroma.

Ophelia thought it was over, but Finnegan poured another glass.

Ophelia was speechless.

She thought, 'For the sake of my job, I'll drink!'

Ophelia drank one glass after another, and soon, she lost count of how many glasses she took.

She was drunk again.

The next day, she woke up in a hotel room.

Instinctively, she glanced beside her. No one was there, so she lifted the sheet to check her clothes. Those weren't the ones she was wearing last night...

Ophelia's heart skipped a beat. 'Did I sleep with Finnegan again?' she thought.

She tried to recall, but she remembered nothing.

"You're up."

A deep voice came from the direction of the bathroom.

Ophelia looked over. Finnegan was in a loose bathrobe. Such a scene was bound to lead to wild thoughts.

Ophelia's heartbeat quickened, she silently turned her head away with her hands covering her face, feeling bad. She was drunk again, and now she was surely doomed.

Seeing her reaction, Finnegan knew what she was thinking and said, "Well, the housekeeping lady got you changed last night."

Ophelia was overjoyed and immediately looked up. "Really? So, we didn't..."

She sounded relieved, not disappointed.

'Countless women wished to sleep with me. What was the matter with her? Was she not a woman?' he thought.

He suddenly found Ophelia special.

Finnegan felt a bit frustrated but still kept a calm and indifferent tone. "Yes."

Finnegan was mad. Anyone who knew him well would notice it.

Finnegan's emotions were always hidden. Even the expressions he showed were the ones he wanted people to see.

But not this time. He was mad without concealing his emotions. This had never happened before.

Ophelia was the first to make Finnegan lose control.

Hearing his answer, Ophelia breathed a sigh of relief, patting her chest with a sense of joy. She mumbled to herself, "That's great. You scared me."

Finnegan heard her.

He said coldly, "I'm not deaf."

He was saying that he could hear her mumbling to herself.

Ophelia gave an awkward smile. "Mr. Abbott."

Finnegan sat on the sofa with a powerful aura. He had the presence of someone who looked down upon the world.

"Ophelia, you feel relieved that nothing happened, right? Last night, you said you would take advantage of me. So, after getting drunk, you couldn't handle me, right?"

Ophelia was befuddled.

She sensed that Finnegan was angry but didn't understand why.

'Does he want me to take advantage of him?'

'Is his pride hurt?' she thought.

No, that couldn't be right. She must have misunderstood. He mocked her for being plain and honest. If she really had slept with him, she'd be dead already.

Ophelia forced a laugh. "Mr. Abbott, I was just joking. How could I dare to take advantage of you? You don't need to worry. I never want to sleep with you. I just want to do my job. If I offended you last night, please forgive me..."

She apologized with the utmost sincerity, her face almost stiffening from the forced smile. However, Finnegan's expression was growing darker.

Ophelia felt uneasy. 'Did I do something to him last night after I got drunk?' she thought.

Ophelia asked tentatively, "Mr. Abbott, I drank too much last night. Did I say something that I shouldn't have?"

Ophelia feared she had let slip the truth about sleeping with him after getting drunk last time.

"Feeling guilty?" Finnegan raised an eyebrow. He didn't intend to tease her, but seeing her scared look, he felt amused. With a cold snort, he decided to tease her a bit. "Ophelia, I didn't expect you to be so bold. Don't you remember what you did and said to me last night?"

Ophelia's heart tightened and she asked cautiously, "Wh... What did I say?"
