Chapter 159: Wedding Ring
Boss Damon was astonished, Finnegan was the kind of prominent figure that they could not come into contact with in their circle.
Assistant Holden took a closer look. "Damon, it seems like it is Magnus. Magnus really hides his true identity well, knowing Mr. Abbott."
"Let's go and see for ourselves." Damon quietly followed behind to confirm.
When he saw Finnegan helping Magnus into a luxury car with his own eyes, he was certain that Magnus and Finnegan knew each other, and their relationship seemed to be quite good.
Magnus had had too much to drink, so his self-control was not as good. He shouted loudly, "Drink, drink more! I'm not drunk. Finnegan, let me tell you, you can't bully my sister. I’m not just a brother for show..."
"Magnus, you've had too much to drink," Ophelia said. It was the first time she had seen Magnus so drunk and loose-lipped. She quickly supported him and closed the car door.
Finnegan couldn't drive after drinking, so there was a driver waiting for them.
The driver started the car and asked, "Mr. Abbott, where to?"
Finnegan looked at Ophelia and asked, "Where does he live?"
"North Blossom Avenue Residence 12."
The driver stepped on the gas pedal and the car disappeared in no time. Boss Damon walked out from behind a tree, watching the direction the car went in, feeling a bit awestruck. "That Magnus, he's really hiding something. He calls Mr. Abbott by his name, Holden. Did you hear that? Magnus seemed to say he is Mr. Abbott's brother-in-law?"
Holden nodded. "I heard. Magnus has such a deep relationship with Mr. Abbott. He really keeps his true colors hidden. Magnus is the god of wealth in our law firm."
Boss Damon thought about how he had been bullying Magnus for a long time and felt somewhat uneasy. Seemingly lost in thought, he realized he needed to treat Magnus better. Not only was he the god of wealth, but also someone not to be messed with.
...
Ophelia and Finnegan accompanied Magnus back home. Magnus, who was drunk, stumbled as he walked. He was too heavy for Ophelia to support, so Finnegan had to help him to the door of his rental house.
Ophelia pressed the doorbell and Mrs. Riley opened the door shortly after. Seeing Magnus, who was drunk, she quickly lent a helping hand. "Why did Magnus drink so much?"
Ophelia explained, "Aunt, he had too much to drink. Just let him rest for a while and give him plenty of water."
Magnus didn't have a room anymore, so he could only sleep on the couch. As Finnegan laid him down on the couch, he glanced around the house.
Both rooms had people inside, but none of them came out.
Mrs. Riley brought a pillow to support Magnus's head and said to Ophelia and Finnegan, "Thank you. Have a drink of water before you leave. I'll go make hot water."
"There's no need," Ophelia said with a faint smile. "We're heading back now. Please take care of him, Aunt."
"Alright, I won't keep you." Mrs. Riley seemed simple and down-to-earth.
Ophelia looked at the unconscious Magnus with concern before leaving with Finnegan.
When they entered the elevator, Ophelia said, "Magnus is drinking so much for the first time. He has something on his mind. He used to not be like this."
Ophelia was worried that Finnegan had a bias against Magnus, so she explained with just one sentence.
Because she treated Magnus as her own person.
Finnegan held her hand and didn't say anything, silently putting a ring on her ring finger, as if performing magic.
Ophelia felt a slight chill on her ring finger and looked down in surprise to see a diamond ring.
"This is..." Ophelia was extremely delighted.
"It's a wedding ring." Finnegan also wore a matching ring on his ring finger.
Ophelia's heart bloomed with joy, he really thought of everything and surprised her in every way.
Of course, there should be a wedding ring for getting married, she hadn't even thought of it.
The man's ring should have been bought by her.
In order to not be exaggerated, Ophelia conveniently wore it for work without affecting her daily life. When Finnegan chose the wedding ring, he put thought into it and didn't buy a too large carat diamond ring, but a four-carat one.
If they had bought a dozen-carat diamond ring, Ophelia wouldn't dare to wear it outside and it would lose the meaning of a wedding ring.
As long as Ophelia wore the wedding ring when going out, showing that she was married, it would invisibly solve some pursuers.
This was Finnegan's little trick.
Ophelia asked happily, "When did you buy it?"
"I ordered it yesterday and it arrived today." Finnegan tightly held her hands, "Now that you're trapped, you're mine. Look inside the ring and see what's there."
Ophelia took it off and looked inside, shocked.
