Chapter 666 Reunion

Raymond glanced at Barbara, noticing her hair had turned white. After the typhoon, his perspective had shifted.

You never know what might happen next.

Waiting might mean missing out forever.

"Raymond, why are you staring at me like that?" Barbara asked, confused. "Is there something on my face, or is my hair a mess?"

Raymond replied, "Mom, your hair's gone white."

Barbara chuckled, "I'm over fifty; it's normal to have white hair. Aging gracefully is a blessing. But you know, you still haven't settled down and given me a grandchild. The girl I introduced you to last time was nice. How about having dinner with her sometime?"

"Sure, Mom, you set it up."

Barbara was taken aback.

"Raymond, is the sun rising in the west today?"

Barbara was shocked. Why was Raymond so agreeable this time, going along with everything she suggested?

Before, Raymond was always against dating, claiming he was too busy.

"It's about time." Raymond thought of Finnegan and Ophelia and said, "True love really does exist."

Barbara beamed, "Raymond, you're still a romantic at heart. It's good to believe in love. I'll set it up for you later, but first, let's go to church and pray for your sister, hoping Sandra will come home soon."

Barbara was picturing the day Sandra would return when Raymond's next words floored her.

"Mom, Sandra's already back."

Barbara was stunned, thinking she must have misheard, "Raymond, say that again. What about Sandra?"

"Mom, Sandra's back," Raymond repeated. "I never told you, but I found her. I was waiting for the right moment for you two to reunite, but I was worried something might go wrong."

Who knew what might happen when Tate got out of prison, or if something unexpected would happen in the meantime, losing the chance to reunite.

When Barbara learned that Sandra was alive and had been found, she was overjoyed. "Raymond, tell me quickly, where is Sandra? Why didn't you bring her back?"

"You've met her," Raymond said. "Sandra is Tay, the person you saw at home last time."

Barbara thought of Tay and was shocked again, trembling with excitement. "She's my daughter. No wonder... no wonder..."

No wonder she felt a sense of familiarity.

That was her long-lost daughter.

"Take me to see Tay immediately," Barbara couldn't wait. "Raymond, where is she? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"Mom, you can't see her now," Raymond said. "Tay is in prison, serving a three-year sentence. I planned to tell you after she got out. Tay didn't want you to know she was in prison."

"In prison? What did Tay do wrong? How could you, as her brother, not protect her and let her end up in prison?" Barbara was furious, blaming Raymond for not protecting Tay. "Just because she's in prison doesn't mean I can't see her. You have the power; I want to see Tay now. Make it happen."

Barbara's tone was commanding. She was too excited and anxious to see Tay immediately.

She couldn't imagine Tay's life in prison.

"Mom, it's too late now. Let's talk about it tomorrow. I need to ask Tay if she wants to see you." Raymond also felt guilty. "I didn't protect Tay well. She's serving a three-year sentence, but if she behaves well, she can apply for a reduced sentence and get out earlier."

"Tay doesn't want to see me? I'm her mother; why wouldn't she want to see me?" Barbara said sadly. "Does she blame me? Doesn't she want to acknowledge me?"

Raymond comforted her, "Mom, Tay doesn't blame you."

"What did Tay do to get a three-year sentence?" Barbara asked with concern. "How has she been all these years? Why didn't she come back to find us?"

Raymond hesitated and said, "Tay was trained by an assassin organization to become a killer..."

After boss's baby, she Escape
