Chapter 681 A Family Outing

Being a parent was tough, and treating kids fairly was even tougher.

Even though all kids come from the same parents, there's always some bias. Different personalities mean parents treat them differently.

Raymond never envied what Eugene and Barbara gave to Tate. Even if they gave her everything, he had no complaints. To him, Tate deserved it. It was the family's way of making it up to her.

Karen went back to her room, keeping her cool. She now had proof of Tate's wrongdoing, and as long as Tate returned to the Stewart family, she'd have leverage.

She couldn't understand why her parents favored Tate so much.

That night, Tate slept well. It was her first time staying at home, and it felt completely different.

The next morning, Tate went for a run with Raymond. Both had a habit of exercising and woke up at the same time.

Karen sneakily followed them. She usually slept in, so it was rare for her to be up this early.

But Karen, who usually didn't exercise, couldn't keep up with Tate and Raymond.

Soon, she was left far behind, unable to keep running.

Raymond and Tate noticed Karen following them but didn't care.

After a lap, they found a spot by the river in the park to sit down. Raymond handed Tate a bottle of water. "Getting used to it?"

"Pretty much." Tate was adaptable and didn't feel uncomfortable.

"Don't mind Karen too much. That's just how she is," Raymond said. "She doesn't mean any harm."

"I know." Tate didn't say much.

Raymond knew she was reserved. After sitting for a while, he asked, "Want to run another lap?"

"No problem." Tate was in good shape, and this was nothing to her.

They ran two more laps before heading back. Barbara had made breakfast, and Eugene hadn't gone to the office. Knowing Tate could only stay for a few days, they both wanted to spend time with her.

Karen sat on the couch, watching Raymond and Tate come back together, feeling both envious and jealous. "Raymond, Tate, good morning."

Karen reluctantly greeted them.

Raymond said, "Karen, you should exercise more. You couldn't even run half a lap. Your fitness is really poor."

Karen felt a wave of embarrassment as Raymond had directly exposed her stalking.

Tate didn't say anything and walked straight to the elevator, taking it to the third floor to wash up.

Barbara came out of the kitchen and said, "Tate, you're back. Go take a shower and come down for breakfast."

Tate responded, "Okay, Mom."

Hearing "Mom" brought tears to Barbara's eyes. She would do anything for Tate, let alone make her breakfast.

Eugene walked out of the elevator, and Tate greeted him, "Dad, good morning."

Eugene was overjoyed. "Tate, good morning. Back from your run? Go take a shower and come down for breakfast. Your mom cooked especially for you today."

"Okay."

Tate walked into the elevator as Eugene came out.

Eugene stood there grinning, happy that Tate had called him "Dad."

Karen couldn't stand it. She got up, wrapped her arm around Eugene's and said, "Dad, you look so sharp today."

Karen was trying to get Eugene's attention, not wanting the whole family to focus on Tate.

Eugene smiled and said, "Your mom and I are planning to take Tate out. These are matching family outfits your mom had made."

Hearing this, Karen then noticed that Barbara was also wearing clothes from the same series.

They only mentioned taking Tate out, not Karen.

Eugene and Barbara were planning to spend quality time with Tate during her short visit and hadn't thought much about Karen's feelings. To them, it was a small matter.

Karen felt unbalanced but didn't say much.

After a while, Tate came downstairs after washing up, wearing the same casual outfit as Eugene. Barbara had placed it on Tate's bed earlier, asking her to wear it today.

Raymond also came downstairs after showering. Seeing Tate's outfit, he complimented, "Looks great. Mom and Dad, where are you taking Tate today? How about I be your driver?"

Barbara laughed, "I bet you want to tag along with us. We're going hiking. You can drive and carry our stuff."

After boss's baby, she Escape
