Chapter 283: The Sight
The news of the Hawthorne Family's intention to marry into the Parks Family, with Caspian marrying Niamh, also surprised Finnegan.
Finnegan, who usually didn't care about such matters, couldn't help but ask, "Why did Sinclair think so?"
The Hawthorne Family wouldn't have such low standards when choosing a daughter-in-law, so why did they choose Niamh?
Caspian complained over the phone, "I also want to know what my mother is thinking. I've made it clear that it's impossible for me to marry Niamh. I'd rather be a believer. I'm afraid that she'll abandon me and go find other men."
Finnegan was speechless.
Finnegan also had no good feelings towards Niamh. In Finnegan's eyes, Niamh was not even considered an ordinary person.
Ophe, who had just finished showering, overheard the conversation between the two and was also surprised. After Finnegan hung up the phone, Ophe asked, "Caspian is marrying Niamh?"
Finnegan said, "Caspian said that Dovie went to talk to his mother about it today. I don't know what Dovie is thinking. She suddenly wanted to find a marriage for Niamh."
"From the perspective of family background, the Parks Family and the Hawthorne Family are indeed a match, but Niamh and Caspian are not compatible," Ophe said frankly, "They don't seem to fit together in any way."
"Caspian has always looked down on Niamh, and it's even more impossible for him to marry such a woman," Finnegan said, patting the seat next to him, indicating for Ophe to come over so he could blow-dry her hair.
Finnegan was very skilled at blow-drying Ophe's hair.
As Ophe sat down, Finnegan said, "Niamh didn't return to the Parks Family until she was fifteen, and her reputation was very bad. If it weren't for Dovie's protection and indulgence, a person like Niamh, who is both foolish and arrogant, wouldn't have survived a day in ancient times."
Ophe was quite surprised that Niamh turned out to be like this in Finnegan's eyes.
Ophe also had no good feelings toward Niamh.
Niamh had repeatedly plotted her, and besides that, she was also responsible for the incident of Sybil's parents.
Ophe completely believed that incident was not an accident actually. Instead, it was definitely intentional on Niamh's part. Niamh's actions cannot be described as simply as willfulness.
Thinking of Sybil, Ophe hadn't seen her since she left the Parks Corporation, yet she didn't know how Sybil was doing.
Ophe asked, "So the marriage between the Parks Family and the Hawthorne Family won't happen?"
Finnegan said, "It won't happen. Otherwise, Caspian would really leave home and become a believer. Go to bed early tonight as we have a prenatal check-up tomorrow."
Ophe didn't dare to be careless about such check-ups.
The next day, Finnegan accompanied Ophe to the obstetrics and gynecology hospital. This was a private hospital, and they had made an appointment long ago.
When Ophe arrived, she went straight for the examination.
Today, there was an ultrasound examination. Finnegan waited outside while Ophe went in alone and lay on the examination bed under the doctor's guidance.
The female doctor checked the pregnant woman's information and, looking at Ophe's name. She took another look at Ophe and said, "Pull up your shirt and expose your belly."
Ophe did as she was told and lifted her shirt.
The female doctor smiled and applied some lubricant for the examination on Ophe's belly, then took the instrument and began the examination on Ophe's belly.
Ophe lay quietly, waiting.
When the female doctor pushed the instrument to Ophe's left waist, she deliberately lifted her shirt a little, but she didn't see any birthmarks.
She then said to Ophe, "Pull your pants down a little more."
Ophe naturally followed the doctor's instructions.
As she pulled her pants down a little, the female doctor saw the birthmark on Ophe's left waist and asked in a seemingly calm manner, "Is this a birthmark? It's quite pretty."
Ophe didn't think much of it and replied, "Yes, I've had it since I was little."
The female doctor quickly finished the examination and printed out the ultrasound report for Ophe. "You're all set," she said.
As Ophe was about to leave, the female doctor said to her colleague, "Can you cover for me for a while? I need to use the restroom."
After giving instructions, the female doctor hurriedly went out and walked to the balcony outside the hospital corridor, where she made a phone call. "I saw it. There's a green birthmark, just as you described."
