Chapter 596 Lloyd's Visit to Probe

Caspian quickly pulled his hand back. "Karen, what are you doing? We are notcouple. Stop lying."

Karen, unwilling to give up, clung to Caspian's arm again. "You're only doing this because of her, right? Because of her, you don't dare to admit our relationship."

Karen was furious and gave Tate a fierce glare.

Caspian was speechless. Tate said, "Here's your coat back. By the way, she came for you. If there's nothing else, I'll leave."

She had no time to meddle in other people's private affairs.

"Tate, let me explain. I'm not in that kind of relationship with her..."

Caspian didn't understand why he was explaining, but before he could finish, Tate pushed the coat back at him and left, wearing only a white tank top.

Caspian wanted to chase after her, but Karen held onto his arm tightly. "You're not going anywhere."

"Karen, have you had enough?" Caspian got angry as he saw Tate walking away and shook Karen off.

They had met at a party, in the same social circle. Despite being a playboy, Caspian had never flirted with Karen.. They weren't even friends.

He had no idea why she said she was his girlfriend.

Tate walked out of the mall through the emergency exit. Just as she stepped out, a man bumped into her.

Tate quickly dodged, and the man fell to the ground.

The man apologized profusely. "I'm sorry, did I bump into you?"

"No problem." Tate remained aloof. She looked at the man, feeling a sense of familiarity but couldn't recall where she had seen him before.

Tate blurted out, "Do we know each other?"

This question startled Anthony, who had come specifically to see if Tate still remembered.

'Tate actually had memories.'

'Could the experiment have failed?' he thought.

Anthony smiled and said, "No, we don't."

"Alright then." Tate said nothing more, displayed no emotion, and turned to walk away.

Anthony stood there, watching Tate's back as she walked away, his eyes growing dark.

Night fell.

Jude had spent the day as the company's general manager, feeling quite powerful.

Jude had tasted the flavor of leadership. Upon returning from work, he made a deliberate visit to Finnegan in the hospital, proudly recounting his accomplishments at the company.

"Finnegan, I've come to realize that I have a knack for business. It's not as challenging as I thought, just signing a few papers and attending meetings," Jude said with a smile. "Just get better. Leave the company to me."

Finnegan's lips curved slightly. "Alright, then I'll leave it to you, Dad."

He didn't want to dampen Jude's enthusiasm.

The documents that Jude had signed were inconsequential as they had already been approved by Ophelia; Jude was merely adding his signature.

The purpose was to give Jude a sense of presence.

As for the meetings, they were all trivial ones that Finnegan had Linda arrange.

Jude glanced at the sleeping Warmie and said, "Finnegan, you can't keep bringing Warmie to the hospital. It's not good. Hospitals are full of germs."

"I've discussed it with Ophelia. We'll go home to recuperate tomorrow," Finnegan said. "This surgery failed, so we'll go home and wait for the next one."

Pretending to be blind here was too uncomfortable. Only at home could he relax a bit.

Jude said, "Alright, I'll come to pick you up from the hospital tomorrow."

"No need, Dad. Go to the company as usual. The company is in your hands now, and I can take a long break."

"No problem," Jude promised with a smile. "I'll be there, so don't worry."

After bragging to Finnegan, Jude went to Lloyd to boast about his abilities.

The next day, Finnegan was discharged and returned home. As a concerned mother, Celia hurried to the Abbott family upon hearing the news of his discharge.

Lloyd also came over from the old mansion, visiting under the guise of being an uncle, arriving even before Celia.

Finnegan knew Lloyd's intentions as soon as he heard he was there.

He had Ophelia stay upstairs with Warmie while he went downstairs to deal with Lloyd himself.

Leaning on a cane, Finnegan slowly made his way downstairs, relying on touch to guide him. "Lloyd?" he called out.

Lloyd stepped forward. "Finnegan, you can't see. Why didn't Ophelia help you down? What if you fall?"

"It's fine. It's my own home; I can walk with my eyes closed." Finnegan sat down on the sofa. "Lloyd, thank you for your concern."

After boss's baby, she Escape
