Chapter 419 Almost Over
Ophelia remained calm and confident, making Niamh increasingly anxious.
Ophelia came prepared and would not let Niamh succeed.
The handwriting experts stepped forward, and before they could start, Niamh panicked. "Who knows if you have bribed these people."
"What, are you scared?" Ophelia sneered, "Niamh, the truth cannot be faked, and lies cannot become truth. You have long known that you are not the heiress of Parks Corporation. You are Natalie's biological daughter. You and your mother conspired to seize the company. As long as I'm here, you won't touch anything in the company."
Niamh was incredulous. "No, how could I be Natalie's daughter? Natalie is my aunt. Ophelia, you're talking nonsense."
Such a big revelation was too much for Niamh to accept at once.
She knew she wasn't the heiress of Parks Corporation, but she didn't think she was Natalie's daughter.
Natalie had never revealed a word.
Natalie wasn't married, so where did the daughter come from?
So, in Niamh's eyes, Ophelia was making things up.
Seeing the two arguing, the board members remained silent, unable to discern the truth.
The handwriting experts showed their credentials and said, "Our institution's evaluations are conducted with fairness and impartiality. We would never utter a single falsehood. We are an authoritative institution and will bear legal responsibility for our results."
If there were any fraud, the evaluation institution would also be held accountable.
To ensure credibility, Ophelia specifically found the most authoritative institution in New York.
Ophelia coldly stared at Niamh. "Are you too scared to authenticate it? Niamh, do you think you can take over the company with a forged transfer document? Dream on."
Niamh dared not authenticate it. Once authenticated, she would be exposed and finished.
"Why should I listen to you? This transfer document was signed by my mother herself. I watched her sign it." Niamh held up the transfer document and said, "Board members, I've been back in the Parks Family for eleven years. If I weren't Dovie's biological daughter, why would Dovie only speak up now? Ophelia has a personal grudge against me and is causing trouble under the protection of the Abbott Family."
Ophelia admired Niamh's eloquence. "Niamh, you've really improved. Your eloquence is excellent. In that case, let's watch a video."
Ophelia signaled to Linda, who walked to the main stage with a laptop and played a video of Natalie and Niamh talking on the terrace.
In the video, Natalie admitted that Niamh was not Dovie's daughter.
This was hard proof and impossible to fake.
Seeing the video, Niamh turned pale and couldn't argue.
The board members were enlightened. An elderly board member stood up and said, "I trust Dovie's decisions. She led us and Parks Corporation to grow together. The company's development to this day is her hard work. Finding her daughter is also her wish."
"We have followed her for many years, some since George's time. Ophelia indeed has Dovie's demeanor, just like Dovie's when she was young. I believe Ophelia is Dovie's biological daughter."
"Yes." other board members agreed, "And the signature on the will, even without authentication, I can tell it's Dovie's handwriting. Dovie had a habit of connecting the 'a' and 'r' in 'Parks' when she signed, but the transfer document doesn't have this. It's clearly not Dovie's signature."
Hearing this, the other board members looked closely and found it to be true. Dovie's signature indeed had this characteristic.
Taking advantage of Niamh's guilt, Ophelia snatched the transfer document from her hand and handed it to the handwriting experts behind her. "Please."
Seeing this, Niamh tried to stop it, but Tate stepped forward to block her. "Behave yourself."
