Chapter 557 Things Are Getting Worse

Finnegan didn't voice his suspicions and worries, as it would only make Ophelia anxious as well.

Ophelia called Celia, and it took almost an hour for her to bring Warmie over.

Hearing Warmie's voice at the hospital room door, Finnegan couldn't help but smile. He turned slightly, prepared to embrace Warmie.

"Warmie, come here, let Daddy hold you." Celia knew what Finnegan wanted and placed Warmie in his hands, reminding him, "Finnegan, be careful."

Finnegan, unable to see, was extra cautious and solemn as he cradled Warmie. He tenderly explored Warmie's face, small hands, and feet, finding solace in the touch.

Seeing Warmie lying calmly in Finnegan's embrace, Ophelia was overcome with a mix of emotions. The sight was heartwarming, yet she lamented that Finnegan couldn't see Warmie's features.

Standing beside him, Ophelia said, "Warmie has gained some weight. Her little face is round, her chubby hands adorable, her eyes bright, and she hasn't grown any teeth yet. But her hair has grown a bit..."

Since Finnegan couldn't see, Ophelia described it to him.

Warmie seemed to know that Finnegan was injured and lay quietly in his arms, her chubby hand touching Finnegan's face, her big eyes looking at him, revealing a heartwarming scene.

Warmie's eyes were full of Finnegan.

Finnegan kissed Warmie's hand and instructed Ophelia, "Please take care of the discharge procedures. I would like to go home and return for the surgery."

He needed to be by Warmie's side to feel at ease.

The hospital had too many germs, and Warmie was too young with weak immunity. Naturally, Finnegan wouldn't keep Warmie in the hospital.

Celia said, "Finnegan, you should stay in the hospital. It's better with doctors around."

"I'll take care of the discharge process," Ophelia agreed without inquiring further. She informed Celia, "Mom, he wants to go home, so let's discharge him. Home is better than the hospital."

Finnegan needed to recuperate and wait for surgery. Staying in the hospital every day was indeed stifling, so Ophelia fully agreed.

With both Finnegan and Ophelia agreeing, Celia could only respect their decision.

Ophelia's words held considerable sway within the family, with Celia not only refraining from objection but also occasionally seeking Ophelia's opinion as a matter of instinct.

Ophelia managed Finnegan's discharge process, and the family departed together. Choosing not to go back to the old mansion, Finnegan made it clear that Lloyd wouldn't have another opportunity to approach Warmie.

He would do everything he could to protect Warmie.

Finnegan hired four new bodyguards to ensure Warmie's safety.

Noticing Finnegan's anxiety about Warmie, Ophelia felt that something was amiss. That night, after Warmie had drifted off to sleep, she lay down beside Finnegan and inquired, "Are you keeping something from me? You were discharged and hired bodyguards."

"I just want to ensure your safety," Finnegan said, holding Ophelia's waist and kissing her cheek. "Sleep, don't overthink."

Apart from being unable to see, Finnegan seemed the same as before.

"Okay," Ophelia nestled in his arms, feeling completely at ease.

While Finnegan was recuperating, Ophelia adeptly handled both the company and household matters, dedicating less focus to the Mexican restaurant.

After feeding Warmie, Ophelia received a call from Addison. A Mexican restaurant had a food poisoning incident, resulting in over a dozen people being affected and sent to the hospital in serious condition.

Receiving the call, Ophelia felt a bit dazed, as it was another trouble for her.

Ophelia didn't have to address it directly. As Addison was unable to handle it independently, she dispatched Linda to resolve the issue at the Mexican restaurant. The culprit behind the poisoning was discovered, and suitable compensation and reconciliation measures were put in place. As a result, the Mexican restaurant had to temporarily shut down.

The police investigation unveiled that a competing Mexican restaurant, envious of their success, had bribed the food procurement staff to utilize inferior ingredients, resulting in diarrhea and food poisoning.

Such competitive tactics were the lowest of all.

Ophelia was preoccupied with Niamh's ongoing issues in jail, as Jesse persisted in his efforts to secure her release, leaving Ophelia with no capacity to address any competition.

Desperate, Jesse turned to Ophelia for help.
