Chapter 472 Forcing Niamh to Eat
If the dishes on the table made Niamh flustered, Ophelia's words were even more shocking to her.
'Did Ophelia know about my use of food incompatibility to harm Dovie's body? It must be so. Otherwise, these four dishes on the table wouldn't be so coincidentally incompatible. She's deliberately testing me.'
Niamh pretended to be calm and actually ate all the food in her bowl. Eating a little bit wouldn't harm a lot.
Ophelia was not surprised. She knew Niamh would eat and that eating once wouldn't do much harm.
It was only through frequent consumption that actual damage to health could occur.
Just because Niamh ate, Ophelia became even more convinced that Niamh understood food incompatibility and had a significant connection to Dovie's illness.
But what Niamh did was too subtle. Dovie had already been cremated and buried, making it very difficult to accuse Niamh.
Without evidence and Niamh's admission, there was simply no way to make her get the punishment she deserved.
Ophelia looked at Niamh, her mind filled with the gruesome image of Dovie's death. She tightly gripped her wine glass, wanting to kill Niamh and avenge Dovie.
When Ophelia could no longer bear it, Finnegan walked up to her, quietly holding her hand. "Ophe, you look tired. Rest for a while. Let me take care of it."
It was cruel to make Ophelia face her mother's murderer.
Ophelia came to her senses and glanced at Finnegan, and he quietly took the wine glass from her hand.
If Finnegan hadn't taken it, Ophelia might have crushed it directly and used the shards to kill Niamh.
Finnegan signaled Linda behind him, and she came over to support Ophelia and lead her away.
Facing Finnegan, Niamh was frightened. She wanted to get up and leave, but Finnegan pressed her down. "You haven't finished your meal yet. Why leave so early? Outsiders might say that I'm not hospitable enough."
Finnegan placed the crab and persimmons in front of Niamh and commanded, "Eat."
Upon learning that Niamh had gone to the lounge to find Warmie, Finnegan even wanted to strangle Niamh.
How dare Niamh target Warmie! She was truly asking for death.
Niamh's heart raced, her eyes filled with terror, as Finnegan whispered something in her ear.
Finnegan said, "There are thousands of guests today, and the food is provided by the hotel. Even if there are any issues like food poisoning, it has nothing to do with me and the Abbott family."
These words terrified Niamh. Finnegan was right. They invited so many guests. If there were any problems, it would be the hotel's responsibility. No one from the Abbott family prepared the food.
Few people knew that eating crab and persimmons at the same time could be toxic. And the Abbott family could use this as an excuse to avoid responsibility.
"I'm full." Niamh stood up. "I'm feeling a bit unwell, so I'm leaving."
Finnegan commanded, "Niamh, you've only taken a bite. Where are you going? Finish these two dishes. The villa's golden python hasn't eaten in days. Last time, it tasted your finger and found it delicious, and it's still very hungry."
In other words, if Niamh didn't eat the food, she would have to be fed to the golden python.
Finnegan wanted Niamh to eat all the dishes, even though she knew they could be poisonous. Not a single bite should be left.
Niamh looked at Finnegan, memories of that day flooding back, which sent chills down her spine.
Niamh had no choice but to sit down and eat obediently.
With the first bite, Niamh's hands were trembling.
There were many other guests around, and to outsiders, Finnegan seemed very hospitable and welcoming without any hint of threat.
After finishing the crab and persimmons, Niamh felt utterly drained, purely from being scared.
Only after she finished eating did Finnegan allow Niamh to leave.
Leaving the hotel, Niamh quickly found Jesse. "Hurry! Take me to the hospital for stomach pumping."
Grabbing Jesse's hand, she had him support her.
Jesse asked, "What's wrong with you?"
"They poisoned me," Niamh urged, "Come on! Take me to the hospital."
Niamh was in a lot of pain. Her lips were ashen, and her face was pale.
Jesse took her to the hospital, and it turned out that she had indeed been poisoned.
During the stomach pumping procedure, Niamh was extremely uncomfortable. She felt nauseous and suffered quite a lot.
