Chapter 702 Returning to the Cooper Family

Lynn's constant questioning made Lily a bit suspicious of her.

Lily looked serious. "Lynn, what are you getting at? Are you doubting I'm not Ophelia?"

Lynn was caught off guard by Lily's bluntness. She stared at her. "Are you?"

"Do you want me to be?" Lily shot back. "You like Finnegan, don't you? I noticed it during our last dinner."

Lynn was awkward. "I used to like Finnegan, but I know it's not possible. I hope you are Ophelia. After her accident, Finnegan was a wreck for over six months. He only started to recover when you came back. But if you plan to hurt Finnegan or Warmie, I won't stand by."

Lily held a water cup, a habit of Ophelia's. She would always tap the rim with her index finger.

Lynn noticed this and felt her suspicions ease a bit.

"I don't remember a lot, but I won't hurt anyone," Lily said. "Warmie is adorable, and Finnegan is a good guy."

"Remember that," Lynn warned. "Finnegan just got out of his funk. He can't take another hit."

That was the most important thing.

Lynn hoped that no matter who Lily was, she wouldn't hurt Finnegan again.

Lily stayed silent, and Lynn didn't push further.

Lynn was worried about Finnegan walking in on them, which would be awkward. She had come to see Lily on purpose.

"I gotta go. Come by my dance studio when you can; you used to visit a lot. By the way, Addison and Brian are getting married soon," Lynn said. "Addison was someone you hired from Parks Corporation. She's really turned her life around and is grateful to you."

"Okay," Lily replied. "I'll visit when I can."

Lynn left without saying more.

Lily was alone in the office. She put down the cup, and memories of a typhoon at sea started to surface.

Her head and chest ached.

Lily quickly took some medicine from her bag, swallowed it, and lay back on the sofa to rest.

The medicine always made her drowsy.

She drifted off and felt the suffocating sensation of falling into the sea again. The icy water engulfed her, the waves crashing. When she woke up, she was on a whale's back, with a woman beside her.

In the dream, the woman was soaking wet, anxiously performing first aid. When Lily opened her eyes, the woman asked, "Are you okay?"

Lily saw the woman's face clearly and was startled. Her face was covered in blood, bitten by sea creatures, and a long wooden plank pierced her waist.

"I'm fine. Are you okay? What's your name? How did you get here?"

"Ophelia, Ophelia."

Someone was calling her.

Lily opened her eyes and saw Finnegan. She instinctively curled up and held her forehead. "I fell asleep and had a dream."

"If you're tired, let's go home and rest," Finnegan said gently. "What did you dream about?"

"A dream of falling into the sea. I dreamed of the accident," Lily said, holding her head with both hands, slowly calming down. "The seawater surrounded me. It was so cold, so terrifying. I thought I was going to die."

"Don't think about it," Finnegan consoled, sitting beside Lily and wrapping his arm around her, pulling her close. "It's all over."

Lily leaned against Finnegan's chest, her panicked heart slowly calming down.

"Let's go home and rest," Finnegan said. "The New Year is coming. How about we visit the Cooper family? They took you in. We should have thanked them long ago."

"Okay," Lily said. "I miss my dad and brother too."

The amnesiac Ophelia was Lily. To Lily, she was the daughter of the Cooper family, so it felt natural.

Finnegan nodded. "Alright, then we'll go tomorrow. We'll take Warmie and maybe visit the beach too."

After boss's baby, she Escape
