Chapter 324 Fool Magnus
Seraphina certainly wouldn't be foolish enough to rush to the hospital. She first opened her phone and found the news of Ophelia's hospitalization, which had just been released half an hour ago.
Seraphina called Magnus first, wanting to take Magnus with her to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Magnus was taken by Finnegan to the reservoir. As soon as he got out of the car, his phone rang, showing Seraphina's call.
Magnus subconsciously glanced at Finnegan. Before he could say anything, Finnegan asked, "Seraphina's call?"
Magnus was surprised by Finnegan's right guess. But he still nodded. "Yes."
"Answer it." Finnegan's tone carried a hint of command, which was the natural aura of someone long accustomed to being in power.
Magnus instinctively obeyed and answered the phone.
Seraphina said on the phone, "Magnus, have you seen the news? Ophelia is in the hospital; it seems she had a miscarriage."
"What? Ophelia had a miscarriage?" Magnus was shocked. While speaking, he subconsciously looked at Finnegan.
'No wonder Finnegan's mood was off today; it turned out Ophelia had an accident.' Magnus thought.
Just as Magnus was about to ask Finnegan about Ophelia's condition, Finnegan made a hushing gesture, indicating to Magnus that he should not reveal his presence.
Magnus understood. Although he didn't know why, he still complied.
Seraphina continued on the phone. "Don't you know? Didn't Ophelia call you? With what happened to Ophelia, do you want to go to the hospital together?"
Magnus vaguely replied, "You go to the hospital first; I have something to deal with here. I'll come over as soon as I'm done."
"Then I'll wait for you to come together; are you at the office now? I'll come to the office to find you."
"I'm outside," Magnus said, "Wait for me for a while; I'll call you back in a bit."
Magnus was anxious, wanting to ask Finnegan what was going on, so he hurriedly hung up the phone with Seraphina.
After hanging up, Magnus hurriedly asked Finnegan, "Did something happen to Ophelia?"
"Whether something happened to her or not, don't you know in your heart?" Finnegan's face was cold, his voice chilly. "Did my grandmother drink the milk powder you gave to Ophe?"
"Yes, she did." Magnus was a bit puzzled. What did Old Abbott drinking milk powder have to do with it?
Finnegan's tone intensified. "My grandmother is now in the hospital, vomiting and having diarrhea; it's because she drank the milk powder you gave, which, after being tested by a doctor, was found to contain abortion drug components, leading to my grandmother's hospitalization."
"Abortion drug?" Magnus was astonished. "How could that be? I bought the milk powder at the mall, specifically for pregnant women; it's new, unopened; how would it contain abortion drug components?"
Finnegan asked, "Are you sure the milk powder was bought from the mall? Did you personally buy it?"
Magnus honestly replied, "I bought it and personally selected it."
Finnegan grabbed Magnus by the collar, his tone cold. "Then I have to ask, Magnus, what was your intention in giving Ophe milk powder laced with abortion drugs?"
"No, I could never harm Ophelia." Magnus hurriedly explained, "Finnegan, believe me, how could I harm Ophelia? We grew up together like siblings, let alone harm the child in her belly. I definitely couldn't do such a thing. There must be some mistake somewhere."
Finnegan let go of Magnus. "Then I'll give you a chance; think carefully; did anyone else touch the milk powder you gave Ophe?"
Magnus thought for a moment, "I bought it at the store at the time and brought it back directly; besides the store clerk, no one else touched it; the store clerk couldn't possibly sell milk powder laced with abortion drugs."
Seeing Magnus being so clueless, Finnegan asked directly, "Before you gave something to Ophe, did you see Seraphina?"
"I did." Magnus hadn't realized yet. "Yesterday I bought something and went back; Seraphina was at my place. She saw that I was going to give something to Ophelia and said she wanted to go with me to find Ophelia. We went together this morning, but halfway there, Seraphina got a call back to work overtime."
