Chapter 499 Clanging Rose

Tate heard Caspian's voice and was also stunned, turning to look back. What a coincidence. But at this moment, Tate couldn't care about that much, first shaking off the group of people behind.

Caspian, on the other hand, chattered in the back seat. "Tate, you're injured. How did you get hurt? Go to the hospital. You're still bleeding."

This was the first time Caspian had seen such a deep wound in all his years.

The flesh was torn and exposed, looking horrifying and making his heart skip a beat. It must be painful.

Ignoring Caspian, Tate finally shook off the group of people behind, parked the car on the side of a road in the outskirts, and collapsed on the steering wheel, unable to hold on any longer, falling into unconsciousness.

Caspian called her twice, but Tate didn't respond. Caspian hurriedly got out of the car and opened the driver's door. The seat was already stained red with blood.

"Isn't she dead?" Caspian muttered, reached out to check for breathing. Finding signs of life, so he quickly carried Tate to the back seat and then drove to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the hospital, as the door opened, a cold breeze rushed in. Tate, momentarily conscious, caught a glimpse of the hospital and weakly said, "Can't go to the hospital..."

Caspian directly lifted her and walked inside. "If you don't go to the hospital, you'll die."

Caspian's tone was filled with urgency. Despite his delicate appearance, he turned out to be quite strong, effortlessly carrying Tate without any struggle.

Tate couldn't resist Caspian and was soon sent into the operating room.

When the surgical light above Tate's head turned on, she felt a moment of daze. This was the first time she had been in a hospital in her more than twenty years of life.

In the past, when injured, Tate had always managed on her own, dealing with it simply.

The first time Tate went on a mission, it was with a good friend. During that mission, her friend got injured, and Tate begged her master to take the person to the hospital. But her master said that people in their line of work couldn't go to the hospital, as it would cause a lot of trouble and attract the attention of the authorities.

It was for this reason that her friend didn't make it in the end and died.

Tate, on the other hand, with a fever for three days and nights, endured managed to pull through.

That was the final lesson the master gave Tate, using her friend's life to train her to be a ruthless assassin.

She had served Moonlight Gate for a decade, from the age of fifteen to now. After ten years, Tate had become numb and wanted to break away from the organization. So Tate made a bet with her master. If she could complete the mission, she could leave Moonlight Gate this year.

As the anesthesia took effect, Tate closed her eyes, unaware of what was to come.

When Tate woke up again, it was almost dawn. She faintly heard Caspian talking on the phone outside. "Mom, I didn't do anything wrong. Don't worry. I'll come back tomorrow. A friend of mine got hurt."

Caspian didn't go home, and Grace called to inquire.

Tate's wound was painful. Every movement she moved, causing a sharp and burning sensation.

Tate gasped, and Caspian, hearing the commotion outside, hung up the phone and came in. "Tate, you're awake, thank God." Tate tried to sit up to ease the pain.

Caspian -helped her up, saying, "Who did this to you? I thought you were tough. But to hurt a girl like this, that's inhumane."

Caspian had received death threats before and had thought of having Tate protect herself. Now, the enemies Tate had made were much more ruthless than those women.

Tate didn't want to speak. She silently turned over and lay down to rest.

Caspian admired Tate for this. If it were a man with such a deep wound, he would at least cry out. But Tate, a seemingly fragile woman, remained silent, displaying a strength that put men to shame.

Caspian sat by the bed quietly and said, "Take care of your injury. Don't worry, the police won't come knocking, and the hospital won't gossip. Although I'm useless in many ways, the Hawthorne family name still carries some weight."

Tate remained silent, and Caspian didn't say much either, simply sitting quietly by her side.

Suddenly, Tate said, "Thank you."
After boss's baby, she Escape
