Chapter 475 Invitation from Afar
Caspian had just finished speaking when he felt a chill down his back. Turning around, he found Tate standing right behind him.
Caspian greeted with a smile, "Hey, Iceb... Oh no, I mean Tate."
Caspian felt extremely awkward about letting Tate hear him call her an iceberg.
Tate gave Caspian a cold stare without saying a word.
Ophelia came downstairs and asked, "Tate, have you had breakfast?"
Tate nodded. "Yes."
Tate appeared less cold in front of Ophelia.
Caspian wanted to comment but was afraid of getting into trouble. However, he valued his life more and signaled Finnegan to lend Tate to him.
Having such a formidable bodyguard would give him a strong sense of security.
Caspian had been receiving threatening letters for the past few days, warning him that someone was after his life and that he should be prepared because his life would be taken in seven days.
Even reporting to the police was futile as even they couldn't find who was sending the warning letters.
Caspian couldn't recall offending anyone. He had been surrounded by admirers, known for his playboy reputation within the circle, changing women at a rate of two per month.
Despite his reputation, women still flocked to him because of his generosity.
Not knowing who was after him, Caspian lived in constant fear, suffering from a lack of appetite and insomnia, his nerves on edge.
Finnegan calmly remarked, "You made your bed; now lie in it. As for wanting Tate as your bodyguard, you'll have to ask her yourself."
Finnegan intentionally spoke loudly so Tate could hear him.
Upon hearing this, Caspian became nervous and shy, unable to meet Tate's gaze.
Curious, Ophelia asked, "Caspian, what trouble have you gotten yourself into?"
Caspian sighed, "Ah, I don't even want to talk about it. Someone is after my life, sending me warning letters, stating that they will take my life in seven days. I had no choice but to come here to hide for a while. Tate, could you please help me by being my bodyguard for a few days? I can pay well. Money is not an issue for me."
Caspian truly saw Tate as a bodyguard who was slightly more attractive than the average bodyguard and exuded a stronger presence. He was certain Tate could ensure his safety.
Finnegan dared not directly order or command Tate, not treating her as a subordinate. Hearing Caspian offer money to Tate, Finnegan's eyes sparkled with amusement.
Someone who could casually give away expensive necklaces wouldn't lack money.
As expected, Tate coldly refused, "No."
Caspian stood up. "Why not? Finnegan just said that as long as you agree, he will let you. How much do you want? Just name your price."
Tate's expression remained cold. "I take jobs based on the employer's character. I won't take jobs from playboys, the irredeemably wicked, and the ungrateful."
Caspian was speechless.
"I'm not a playboy. I just have a lot of love to spare," Caspian said. "Although I've had many ex-girlfriends, each one speaks highly of me. You can ask them if you don't believe me."
Tate ignored Caspian and walked toward the yard.
Caspian called out loudly, "I'll pay more!"
Caspian followed her outside. Finnegan said to Ophelia, "Let's ignore them and go have breakfast. Warmie is already in class."
Ophelia was surprised. "Finnegan, aren't you being too strict with Warmie, sending her to early education at just over three months?"
"Warmie is young. Now's her golden period for all-round development. The brain develops well at this time, making learning easier in the future," Finnegan explained with a smile. "It's about getting ahead. My grandmother taught me this when I was young."
Ophelia patted Finnegan's head. "No wonder you're so smart."
Finnegan held her hand with a smile. "Our daughter will definitely be smart with your excellent genes."
"Stop flattering..." Ophelia didn't finish her sentence when her phone rang, indicating an email.
More precisely, it was an invitation letter from Wilder, inviting Ophelia and Finnegan to attend a royal wedding in France.
