Chapter 624 A Fortuitous Mistake

After shoving Tate away, Aria jumped right into the fray with them.

Aria's words hit Tate like a blow to the soul.

Since losing her memory, she had been having a recurring dream where a woman's voice urged her to run.

The reason Tate dared to drink the potion was because she trusted Aria.

She didn't remember Aria, but she had dreamed of her.

She had even asked Caspian about Aria.

When Aria appeared, she believed her instinctively and felt that Aria meant her no harm.

Aria used herself to hold off the assassins from Moonlight Gate, giving Tate a chance to escape.

But Tate couldn't leave as she wouldn't abandon Aria.

Gritting her teeth and suppressing the discomfort in her body, Tate saw Aria being ambushed. She stepped forward, grabbed the attacker's shoulder, and threw them over her shoulder.

The attacker, using the momentum, launched another attack at Tate as soon as he landed.

Trained by Moonlight Gate, each assassin was highly skilled, wielding specially made knives, each strike lethal.

Moreover, they outnumbered Tate. She relied solely on muscle memory to counterattack, but with the potion's effects kicking in, she quickly became overwhelmed, sustaining injuries to her abdomen and back.

Seeing this, Aria became anxious. "I'll go back with you. Let Tate go."

"Orders from Lloyd, no conditions," the attacker said, exuding a murderous aura. "I also want to see who's stronger."

In Moonlight Gate, only the fittest survived.

Tate's status in Moonlight Gate made many want to challenge and replace her.

"Shameless." Aria fumed.

Determined, Aria quickly took down one opponent, but the others swarmed her, preventing her from helping Tate.

Tate was overpowered. They kept left cuts on her skin, humiliating her.

Aria knew that if this dragged on, both of them would be done for. She glanced at the nearby river, and without thinking, pulled Tate and jumped in.

The river's current was strong, quickly submerging them.

Seeing this, the Moonlight Gate members said, "Chase them downstream. Don't let them escape."

Tate and Aria were excellent swimmers, a skill honed at Moonlight Gate. Instead of heading downstream, Aria dove underwater and swam upstream.

As the Moonlight Gate members searched along the riverbank, police sirens approached, forcing them to leave quickly.

Tate briefly lost consciousness after entering the water but was awakened by the waves.

By the time they reached the shore, several minutes had passed.

They emerged under a bridge upstream, with Tate coughing violently, taking a long time to recover.

Aria asked anxiously, "Tate, are you okay?"

"Not dead yet," Tate replied, her head spinning. "What about you?"

"I'm fine," Aria said, feeling a pang of sorrow at Tate's injuries. "We need to get to a clinic."

Tate had multiple cuts from the knives, and after being in the water for so long, her wounds looked even more gruesome.

"No, it would expose us. I won't die; these injuries are nothing compared to what I endured during training before."

"Before?" Aria was surprised. "Tate, does your memory regain?"

With Aria's reminder, Tate realized she did regain her memory. She was equally shocked and noticed that the pain in her abdomen was gone.

"Aria, could it be that the potion you gave me was really an antidote?"

"I don't know," Aria said uncertainly. She had stolen it from the lab, thinking it was an antidote, but when the Moonlight Gate members said it was specially prepared for Tate, she had assumed it was poison.

"Tate, do you really remember everything?"

Aria found it hard to believe.

'Could it be that I had accidentally stolen the antidote?' Aria thought.

Tate rubbed her temples. She remembered everything.

Now, she had been abandoned by Moonlight Gate. They wouldn't keep her alive.

Having been with Raymond for so long, even if she claimed she hadn't betrayed Moonlight Gate, Lloyd wouldn't believe her.

And she couldn't go back to Moonlight Gate.

Struggling to stand, Tate looked at Aria and asked, "What are your plans?"

At least she was still Raymond's sister. The worst outcome wouldn't be too bad for her.

But Aria was different. She had killed many people and the police wouldn't let her go. Moonlight Gate wouldn't either.

After boss's baby, she Escape
