Chapter 755 He's the Only One Who Doesn't Know

Hearing Ophelia's name, Tate got excited. "Where is Ophelia? Is she still alive?"

Even Tate could hardly believe it, so her tone was cautious, fearing disappointment.

Caspian was also eager. "Tell us. Where is Ophelia?"

"Dead," Dylan blurted out, fear flashing in his eyes. He rushed to explain, worried they'd think the worst. "Injuries were too bad. Long gash across her middle, other bites...things the sea did to her. If Lily hadn't gotten to her, sharks woulda finished the job."

Dead.Ophelia was really gone.

Tate and Caspian couldn't accept it. Even though they were prepared, they still had hope.

Caspian got agitated. "Why didn't you tell the Abbott family?"

The police were searching everywhere, and no one had given up.

"Didn't want nobody knowin'," Dylan continued, his voice heavy with sadness. "Said she knew it was her time, didn't want to worry nobody. The shape she was in...not even the good Lord coulda saved her. Stayin' alive those few days was a miracle in itself."

That sounded like Ophelia. And Finnegan was in a coma, unable to see her one last time.

People often don't realize when they have their last meeting with someone.

Tate calmed down and said coldly, "So Ophelia's dead. No witnesses, no proof. How do we know you're telling the truth? What's to say you didn't kill her?"

"Wasn't us!" Dylan insisted, his voice rising in panic. "We had no reason to hurt Ophelia."

Tate's eyes narrowed. "Lily had heart surgery around the same time. You saying that's just a coincidence?"

"We didn't hurt Ophelia," Dylan repeated, his voice strained. He couldn't bring himself to admit what they'd done, how they'd used Ophelia's heart.

When they took Ophelia to the hospital, knowing she and Lily had the same blood type, Dylan felt compassion. But after doctors confirmed they couldn't save Ophelia, he begged her to do a match test. It turned out to be a match.

Dylan didn't dare say it, fearing Tate and Caspian would think they killed Ophelia for her heart.

Anyone would think that.

"Where is Ophelia's body?" Tate wanted to find the body first. If someone is dead, you need to see the body.

"Buried in the cemetery," Dylan said. "Since you know, I won't hide it. I don't want Lily to live under someone else's identity forever. Do whatever you want. The body is in the cemetery; you can go anytime."

"We want to go now," Tate said impatiently.

Dylan was silent for a moment, then said, "Wait."

He went back to the boat, gave some instructions to his companions, and then walked towards Tate and Caspian. "Let's go, I'll take you there."

Dylan walked straight to his car, and Tate and Caspian followed.

On the way, Dylan didn't speak, focusing on driving them to the cemetery.

At the cemetery, Tate noticed fresh flowers in front of the tombstone. "Ophelia is buried here? Who came to mourn?"

"This morning, Lily brought Susan," Dylan said. "The body has been cremated. I can't give you the body. She's buried here. Believe it or not, it's up to you."

"Susan knows too?" Caspian was very surprised.

He worried Finnegan knew as well.

"Susan knows. She came with Lily yesterday, just before you arrived. Lily called me, saying Susan wanted to move the grave, to relocate Ophelia's grave back to Yorkhaven," Dylan said. "Anyway, it can't be hidden anymore. Do whatever you want. Only Susan came. Finnegan still doesn't know Ophelia is dead."

After boss's baby, she Escape
