Chapter 184 Sent to Prison
Dovie gazed at Niamh, who displayed no hint of regret, before turning her eyes to Finnegan.
Caught in the midst of it all, she felt deeply conflicted and truly troubled. She couldn't bear to send her daughter to the police station, but she also had to explain to Finnegan and Ophe. If the solution she proposed didn't satisfy Finnegan, Niamh would still be sent to the police station today.
After thinking it through, Dovie said, "Little Finnegan, it's true that Niamh was in the wrong today and has caused harm to Ophe." As she spoke, Dovie looked toward Ophe. She knew that Ophe had all the control over the situation today.
"Ophe, tonight, Niamh caused you harm, and we will surely compensate for it. Niamh's behavior this time was outrageous, and she should admit her wrongdoing. I won't favor anyone in this matter, and we should handle it accordingly." Dovie made up her mind and said, "Let's call the police and teach Niamh a lesson."
Upon hearing these words, everyone present, including Finnegan, was surprised. Dovie actually sent her daughter to the police station.
Ophe and Caspian were both stunned, finding it somewhat unbelievable.
Niamh's reaction was beyond words. She acted as if she had heard something unbelievable and exclaimed angrily, "Mom, I am your daughter. How can you send me to the police station? Are you kidding? Am I really your daughter? Is this how you treat me?"
Niamh was truly on the verge of going crazy. Her emotions completely spiraled out of control, and she leaped into Dovie's arms from her wheelchair, crying, "Mom, you can't do this to me. I am your daughter. I don't want to go to jail. I was wrong, I know I was wrong, Mom."
Dovie's face was also covered in tears as she held Niamh in her arms, creating a touching scene of deep motherly love.
"Niamh, I habe no other choice. When we make mistakes, we must acknowledge them," Dovie said while stroking Niamh's head.
Caspian looked at Finnegan, wanting to offer a few words of advice so as not to embarrass Niamh by actually taking her to the police station. However, Finnegan suddenly spoke up, "Aunt Dovie, then let's do as you suggested."
Finnegan also wanted to send Niamh to the police station. Still, he knew he needed Dovie to speak up so that he could punish Niamh without straining the relationship between the two families.
Out of his admiration for Dovie, he chose to act this way, unwilling to escalate the situation further.
With Finnegan's words, Dovie's expression became slightly stiff. Her original intention was to retreat to advance, gain sympathy from Finnegan and Ophe, and not pursue Niamh further. However, Finnegan agreed so readily.
Ophe glanced at Finnegan, wanting to say something, but held back.
No matter what decision Finnegan made, it would surely be the best one.
She trusted him.
Niamh became scared and panicked, tightly gripping Dovie's hands. "Mom, I don't want to go to jail or the police station. I was wrong, Ophe, I'm sorry, I was wrong. Paxton said he was interested in you and asked me to do this."
Up until now, Niamh still wanted to shift the blame.
Niamh's regret wasn't for what she did to Ophe but for not being discreet and getting caught.
Ophe said, "Miss, if you have anything to say, save it for the police station."
Ophe's words shattered Niamh's last hope and earned her a malicious glare.
There was no turning back in this matter, and in the end, both Blaire and Niamh were sent to the police station.
One was the mastermind, the other an accomplice, and Paxton, who was taken to the hospital, was also taken away by the police.
Paxton's actions constituted attempted rape. Would Finnegan let it slide?
Niamh was locked up in a dark detention center that night. How could a high-class lady like her adapt to such an environment?
Niamh placed the blame on Ophe and vowed to settle the score once she was released.
Jude and Celia soon learned that Finnegan was sending people to the police station. Jude called in the middle of the night, saying, "Little Finnegan, you put Niamh in jail? What's going on? Did you inform Aunt Zhao? It is a serious matter, and you've strained the relationship between the two families."
Finnegan calmly responded, "Aunt Zhao gave the order. It's not my doing. If you don't believe me, you can ask Aunt Zhao. As for the details, you don't need to know. It's late, get some rest."
After speaking, Finnegan hung up the phone.
Jude was still skeptical and called Dovie.
Ophe entered the room and overheard Finnegan's phone conversation. She asked, "Is it really okay to put Niamh in jail?"
