Chapter 664 One Person Missing, One Person Unconscious
Raymond looked out at the calm sea and said, "Ever since Finnegan went out there, we haven't heard a thing. I don't even know if he got the message. It's our job as cops to protect everyone."
Landon replied, "We've been given the green light to send a team out at 2 PM to check the waters."
The weather station had already confirmed that the typhoon was no longer a threat, making it safe for the police to go out and investigate.
At 2 PM.
Raymond led dozens of officers out to sea. Along the way, they saw many marine creatures floating on the surface. The closer they got to where Lloyd's ship disappeared, the more debris they found.
The powerful typhoon had torn the large ship apart, and bodies were floating in the water, all members of the Moonlight Gate.
None of the Moonlight Gate members survived, at least among the bodies they could find. Many were still missing.
Meanwhile.
In Yorkhaven.
In a hospital, Finnegan lay unconscious.
Earlier that morning, Harold had brought him back to Yorkhaven, but he only found Finnegan at sea. He couldn't find Ophelia or Lloyd.
Finding Finnegan had almost used up all the oxygen in his diving gear.
Harold's mission was only half successful, and he felt too embarrassed to take any money. Not only that, but he also brought in the best doctor from The Shadow Syndicate to treat Finnegan.
Finnegan's life wasn't in danger, but the doctor couldn't say when he'd wake up; it all depended on his willpower.
Susan and Warmie were safely back at the Abbott family estate. Jude and Celia rushed over when they heard the news. Seeing only Susan and Warmie, but not Finnegan and Ophelia, they were really worried.
After finding out Finnegan was in the hospital but not in danger, and that Ophelia was missing, Celia's eyes filled with tears. "What if something happened to Ophelia? I promised Dovie I'd treat Ophelia like my own daughter. If something happens to her, how will I explain it to Dovie?"
Susan, having gone through the typhoon herself, knew how hard it was to survive such a storm, especially since a night had already passed. Ophelia's chances were slim.
Jude, feeling down, said, "Let's go to the hospital to see Finnegan first. If Finnegan wakes up and finds out something happened to Ophelia, what will we tell him?"
Caspian came in after parking the car and was just as shocked when he heard the news.
The only comfort was that Susan and Warmie were safe, and Finnegan had narrowly escaped death.
The group then headed to the hospital.
Finnegan lay in the hospital bed, showing no signs of waking up.
Seeing Finnegan like this, Jude and Celia cried even more. Caspian tried to comfort them, "Don't worry, Finnegan will be okay."
The doctor also said that Finnegan was physically fine; he just didn't want to wake up.
The news about the typhoon was still being reported online, including the number of casualties at sea, with official updates as well.
With only the elderly and children left in the Abbott family, and Finnegan in this condition, Caspian had to keep up with the latest reports on the typhoon.
Caspian called Landon to inquire about the situation at sea. Ophelia's name was not on the current list of casualties.
Lloyd had taken nearly fifty assassins out to sea, but only about a dozen bodies had been found.
By evening, the police searching the sea brought new news: they had found Lloyd's body.
This news excited Raymond. With the leader of Moonlight Gate gone and the organization repeatedly hit hard, it would disband without a leader.
Raymond ordered the search to continue. After three days, they had only found twenty bodies; the rest were still missing. The ocean was vast, and the typhoon could have blown them hundreds of miles away.
The disaster relief in the coastal city was nearing completion. Raymond led his team back to Yorkhaven and visited Finnegan in the hospital.
Finnegan was still unconscious. Even the doctors found it strange; all his tests were normal, but he just wouldn't wake up.
