Chapter 309 Offending People

What should come would always come.
Wade glared at Delaney fiercely and said, "You stay here and reflect on yourself."
After that, Wade went downstairs to deal with Dovie.
As Wade left, Delaney stood up from the ground. She looked coldly at Rhodes without any remorse, saying, "You are still the same as when you were a child, always acting cute in front of Dad, and then I ended up getting scolded. You are really good at pretending to be magnanimous."
"Delaney, I don't understand why you hate me so much. We are sisters. Why is this happening?" Rhodes really didn't understand. In her opinion, family should love and support each other.
"You are still pretending." Delaney stared at Rhodes. "Now that you're back, where do I stand in this family? Tonight, you are very popular and everyone praised you."
"So you're ruining me?" Rhodes couldn't believe it. This was her sister, with whom she had grown up.
Delaney didn't say anything and didn't want to talk to Rhodes. She just turned and left.
After settling Niamh, Dovie came to find them and she was sittting in the living room downstairs.
Dovie directly said, "I have asked Niamh. Wade, let's be honest with each other. You must be clear of what happened tonight in your heart. The conflict between Rhodes and Delaney has led to my daughter's humiliation. You must give me an explanation."
Dovie was very assertive and well-known in the circle as a tough woman.
Faced with her daughter's humiliation, she naturally demanded an explanation.
Wade knew he was in the wrong in front of Dovie, and his momentum weakened a bit. However, he was also cunning and wouldn't admit that Rhodes and Delaney's conflict implicated Niamh.
Wade pretended to be confused and asked, "Dovie, how does this have anything to do with Rhodes and Delaney? I was there when it happened. Ricky said they were in love. I was about to congratulate you, Dovie. How did it turn into humiliation? It's just a quarrel between Ricky and Naimh, nothing serious."
"Wade." Dovie immediately got angry and stood up suddenly. "You are diverting the topic. You are too cunning. Your two daughters have harmed my daughter, whose reputation is ruined. Are you not going to give me an explanation today?"
Wade sighed and said, "Dovie, you come to me so late to demand an explanation. I really feel wronged. To put it bluntly, what kind of reputation does your daughter have in the circle? Everyone knows that she is close with Ricky. I advise you not to be so angry. The incident has already happened. Our two families have had a long-standing relationship, which shouldn't be influenced by a misunderstanding."
This was clearly a denial. Wade wanted to exclude Rhodes and Delaney from this matter.
Niamh's reputation was indeed not good, and now, with this incident, it was even worse.
"Wade, although the Parks Family are all women, we are not to be bullied. If you are unwilling to explain, fine, but don't regret it later." Dovie said and left.
Wade initially wanted to go after her to smooth things over, but now that it had escalated to this point, he could only sigh.
After Dovie left, she called Ophelia. She wanted to confirm whether Ophelia was with Rhodes at the time, as they should be clear about it.
Ophelia, who was preparing to sleep in Rose Garden, saw Dovie's call, and her expression changed. She glanced at Finnegan beside her, saying, "Dovie is calling, probably asking about tonight's events."
As Ophelia had helped Rhodes, she had to be involved in this matter.
"Give me the phone; I'll handle it." Finnegan didn't want Ophelia to be in a difficult position, as Niamh's incident was unexpected.
Ophelia handed the phone to Finnegan and just listened on the side.
Finnegan answered the call, "Dovie, it's me. Ophe is asleep. If you have something to say, tell me."
Ophelia glanced at Finnegan. This was really shameless lying.
When Dovie heard that Ophelia was asleep, she said, "It's nothing. I understand that Ophelia is tired tonight. Being pregnant is not easy. She should rest early."
Upon hearing Dovie's concern over the phone, Ophelia felt a bit guilty and uneasy.
After some pleasantries, Dovie couldn't help but ask, "Finnegan, when Niamh had the incident, you were also there. I want to ask if there is a conflict between Rhodes and Delaney. Was Niamh set up?"
Ophelia also wanted to know how Finnegan would respond, so she looked at him, as a slight misstep could offend both families.
After boss's baby, she Escape
