Chapter 758 Got It
When Dylan heard Lily was being resuscitated at the hospital, he was stunned. "Which hospital? How is she?"
"Wellness Hospital. She lost a lot of blood. We haven't received any updates on her situation; she's still inside," Gavin said, his voice shaky.
Gavin felt guilty. Lily had already been in poor health after major surgery. The thought of her falling and losing so much blood terrified him.
"I'm coming now," Dylan said, hanging up, turning off the stove, and rushing out.
Seeing Dylan's pale face, Finnegan asked, "What's wrong?"
"Lily had an accident and is at Wellness Hospital. I need to get there."
Susan, overhearing their exchange, got worried too. "How did this happen? Finnegan, call a cab. I'm coming too."
No one could just wait around; they all headed to the hospital.
On the way, Finnegan was silent. His fists were clenched tightly, and he could feel a tightness in his chest, much like when he had felt when he had rushed to save Ophelia. It was a mix of urgency and despair.
Tate and Caspian rode with Finnegan, while Dylan and Susan took another cab.
Seeing Finnegan's grim face, Caspian tried to comfort him, "Don't worry, Finnegan. Maybe it's not serious."
Tate, however, didn't feel much. To her, Lily wasn't Ophelia, just a stranger. But she did want to know what Lily knew about Ophelia's last moments.
At the hospital, Gavin, his friends, and his girlfriend Lisa were already there. Gavin was anxiously scratching his head, waiting for news.
When Finnegan and the others arrived, Finnegan asked sharply, "How is Ophelia? What did the doctor say?"
Gavin shook his head. "She's still inside. No news yet."
Just then, the emergency room door opened, and a doctor came out. "Can I speak to any of Lily's family members?"
"Here," Dylan responded quickly.
Finnegan only cared about Ophelia. The name Lily didn't matter to him.
Dylan asked, "Doctor, how is my daughter?"
"The surgery was successful. She'll be sent to the ward soon. We need to monitor her for infection. She had major surgeries before, including heart and plastic surgery..."
Gavin had explained all this when Lily was taken in, so the doctors could treat her properly.
When the doctor mentioned "plastic surgery," those who knew Lily wasn't Ophelia looked at Finnegan, worried he'd become suspicious.
Hearing about the plastic surgery, Finnegan's expression turned cold. It wasn't a minor surgery; it was almost like a face transplant, and it nearly failed, requiring two attempts.
Lily had risked her life for the surgery after her heart operation. She had almost died on the table but persisted, feeling she owed her second life to Ophelia.
Susan looked at Finnegan, too scared to speak.
When the doctor left and Lily was wheeled out, Finnegan stood there, motionless and silent.
His silence made Susan and Caspian too scared to speak. He seemed like a lion ready to rage, making their hearts race.
Finnegan's eyes followed Lily, but he didn't move. Dylan and Gavin followed her to the ward, leaving Tate, Caspian, and Susan in the hallway with Finnegan, all watching him, waiting for his reaction.
