Chapter 586 Feign Illness
'It's Finnegan. What is he doing here?' she wondered.
Ophelia felt incredibly guilty. She had tricked Finnegan into going back, only to be caught here.
Finnegan got out of the driver's seat, stood still, and signaled Ophelia to come over with a slight tilt of his head.
Ophelia, like an ostrich, lowered her head and walked over. "Finnegan."
Finnegan couldn't do anything about Ophelia; he couldn't control her, nor would she listen to him.
"So, are you guilty?" Finnegan asked irritably. "Don't you dare to look at me?"
Ophelia raised her head and smiled ingratiatingly. "Finnegan, I was wrong."
A real man knows when to yield.
And so can a woman.
In front of Finnegan, Ophelia didn't feel embarrassed at all.
Finnegan, full of affection, gently flicked Ophelia's forehead. "Are you hurt?"
Ophelia touched the back of her head and pouted. "It hurts a bit here. Niamh is crazy; she hit me really hard."
Finnegan got worried. "Turn around. Let me check."
Ophelia obediently turned around, exposing the back of her head to Finnegan.
Finnegan took a look and said, "It's getting red, luckily not swollen. You call Niamh crazy, but what about you? Aren't you crazy? You almost gave me a heart attack."
Guessing what Ophelia was up to, Finnegan couldn't care what might happen. He sneaked out of the hospital alone, leaving Warmie in the care of a nurse, and rushed over here.
As soon as Finnegan arrived, he saw the police escorting Niamh and Jesse away. Seeing them through the car window, he understood everything.
Ophelia turned around and smiled. "I knew what I was doing, and Landon and the others were there too. I wouldn't be in danger. Finnegan, you're so smart to know I was here."
Finnegan felt a bit speechless. "There is tracker app in your phone. You installed it, remember?"
Ophelia slapped her forehead, and said, "I really forgot, my bad."
"You're fearless. I see." Finnegan suddenly hugged Ophelia. Only by feeling her in his arms did he feel at ease. "Ophelia, never do itagain."
Ophelia smiled happily, "Okay, I won't do it again. I won't make you worry anymore. Let's go back to the hospital. Warmie is still there. What if Lloyd's people find out you left?"
"Lloyd and Susan are at the church praying. She has to stay a few more days and won't be back so soon. Warmie is accompanied by a nurse. Let's go get something to eat," Finnegan said. "We haven't gone out for a late-night snack for a long time."
"You just recovered and already want to go out." Ophelia wrapped her arms around his waist and smiled, "I want barbecue."
She was in a good mood and wanted to celebrate today.
She had avenged Dovie, and Magnus and Sybil's deaths were accounted for.
"Alright, let's go to your favorite barbecue place."
"Barbecue," They said in unison.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the barbecue stand, where many young people were enjoying barbecue and beer.
Finnegan used to never come to such places, but after coming a few times with Ophelia, he started to like the atmosphere here.
There was no deceit or pretense like in the business world.
Most people who came here to drink were just trying to relieve the stress of life. They were candid and you could hear plenty of gossip and fascinating stories about others.
Arguments between couples, confrontations with mistresses, resentment from relatives of the wealthy, and unpaid debts were all part of the everyday life of ordinary people.
After eating and drinking their fill, on the way back, they could still talk about the interesting stories they had just heard.
Ophelia was quite satisfied with her current life and said, "Life is fleeting. I used to put money first, but after going through all of this, I realized that people are more important."
Finnegan smiled, "That's why we're a family."
"By the way, Celia has moved out now. They got divorced. If this goes on for a while, something might happen," Ophelia said. "Should I start the next step you mentioned?"
Everything they were doing now was to make Lloyd think the Abbott family was in a miserable state. Finnegan was blind, Ophelia was terminally ill, and if Celia and Jude got divorced, Lloyd would feel the satisfaction of revenge and might reveal his true intentions.
Finnegan nodded. "Ophelia, next, it's all about your acting skills. Find the right time."
