Chapter 633 Finnegan Did it
Warmie's plea for a hug nearly broke Finnegan's resolve.
Warmie stretched out her little hands, wanting Finnegan to hold her, while using the other hand to hit Ruth.
Despite being hit, Ruth didn't dare do anything to Warmie.
The sound of Warmie's intense crying filled the room. She didn't understand why Finnegan not hug her. She felt so wronged and cried even harder.
Hearing the deafening cry, Ruth felt extremely annoyed.
Finnegan said, "How about I hold her and try to calm her down? I'm a dad. I have some experience with soothing kids."
Ruth was already frazzled by the crying, and at that moment, Warmie cried so hard she spit up, covering Ruth. Warmie's face was bright red, and Ruth was worried something might go wrong. If Lloyd came back, she wouldn't be able to explain.
Ruth's mind went blank, and her killer instinct was drowned out by Warmie's crying. She handed Warmie to Finnegan and commanded, "Make sure she calms down."
"Okay." Finnegan put the diaper on the ground and reached out to take Warmie, his heart racing. He had never been this nervous before.
The moment he held Warmie in his arms, Finnegan finally felt at ease. "Well well, don't cry."
Finnegan gently soothed her, his voice trembling with excitement inwardly.
Warmie nestled in Finnegan's arms, rubbing her face against his, as if she had found a safe haven. Gradually, she stopped crying, her face still streaked with tears, making Finnegan feel heartbroken.
"It seems you really know how to calm a child," Ruth said, amazed.
Finnegan gently bounced Warmie in his arms and said, "Your clothes are dirty. Why don't you go change? I'll hold her for a while."
Finnegan naturally didn't want to resort to violence and hoped to leave with Warmie unharmed.
Ruth smelled the milk on her clothes, which was indeed unpleasant. Thinking Finnegan was just a hotel staff member, she didn't mind. "Okay, then hold her for a bit."
As Ruth turned to the bathroom to clean up, she caught a glimpse of Finnegan's shoes, which were definitely not the shoes worn by hotel staff.
Ruth's face darkened, and she exuded a murderous aura. "You're not a hotel employee. Give me the child."
Saying this, Ruth swung a punch at Finnegan.
Finnegan, holding Warmie, was already on guard and nimbly dodged. Ruth's next lethal move was already coming.
He could only fight Ruth with one hand. Finnegan didn't want to engage in a prolonged fight; he just wanted to leave. After feinting to confuse Ruth, he ran into the hallway with Warmie.
Ruth chased after him and discovered members of Moonlight Gate who had been drugged and dragged aside by Finnegan. She realized she had been tricked.
Ruth chased into the hallway, and at that moment, the entire hotel's fire alarm went off. Finnegan had also turned on the hallway's water valve, causing water to gush out on every floor. Hearing the alarm, all the hotel guests ran out.
No one knew what was happening. Someone shouted, "Fire!" and everyone started running downstairs. People tend to follow the crowd, so seeing others run, they all followed.
In an instant, the entire hallway was filled with people rushing downstairs. Ruth was completely swept along by the crowd and lost sight of Finnegan. Looking around, the hallway was packed with people, and Finnegan was nowhere to be seen.
By this time, Finnegan had already reached the first floor with Warmie.
The entire hotel was in chaos, with staff running upstairs to check the situation.
Many people had already fled the hotel, and at the entrance, Raymond and a group of colleagues had just arrived, planning to secretly bring Lloyd back to the country. Seeing the hotel guests running out, they were momentarily stunned.
To avoid alerting Lloyd, Raymond didn't dare approach the hotel and quietly instructed his colleagues, "Everyone, be on alert. Don't let any Moonlight Gate members escape."
Raymond was worried that some of the people running out might be from Moonlight Gate.
