Chapter 585 No Omissions

Ophelia walked down the steps, stopping a short distance from Niamh. She cast a cold glance at both Niamh and Jesse.

"You're somewhat clever, but it's too late," Ophelia said to Niamh. "Since I already guessed you'd be here, I'll get myself prepared. I know you too well. You never repent. Only when I fell into your hands would you admit your crimes."

"Ophelia, you bitch. You set me up." Niamh's eyes were nearly bulging out with anger.

"The recorder and the surveillance in the house had recorded everything you just said and did. Niamh, you've done so many evil things and deserve your retribution," Ophelia sneered. "Didn't you ever think how could the rope and the baseball bat just appear at the living room door for no reason? I put them there."

Placing the bat and rope was better than letting Niamh use a knife.

Everything was within Ophelia's calculations. She even threw away all the knives in the kitchen to prevent Niamh from going berserk and causing irreparable damage.

Ophelia had already called the police, who were stationed around the villa. She had also coordinated a signal with Landon. They wouldn't act until she had obtained evidence of Niamh's crimes.

Once everything was in place, Ophelia let Niamh go outside. As soon as Niamh stepped out, Landon would know the evidence was secured, making it the perfect time to arrest Niamh.

Niamh finally realized that Ophelia had planned everything from the start, but there was one thing she couldn't understand.

"Why did you bring Jesse here?" Niamh asked.

Jesse was also puzzled by this. Since Ophelia's target was Niamh, why did Ophelia trick him into coming?

Ophelia didn't answer this time, just smiled meaningfully. "Niamh, go face your punishment."

Bringing Jesse here was, of course, to eliminate all threats.

Previously, it was because of Jesse that Niamh had successfully escaped.

Ophelia had two reasons for tricking Jesse. First, Jesse was softer in nature. If her plan went awry and Niamh tried to kill her, she bet Jesse would intervene.

The second reason was to eliminate all threats.

Over the past two years, every event had taught Ophelia that never to show mercy to enemies and eliminate any possibility of future threats.

She had given Jesse a chance. If he didn't help Niamh, he could walk away unscathed.

Landon waved to his colleagues. "Take them back to the station."

Niamh and Jesse were both put into the police car. Niamh cursed, "Ophelia, you'll deserve a horrible death. You set me up. I won't let you off."

Jesse, on the other hand, was compliant, knowing resistance was futile. He got into the car without a fuss, fully cooperating.

Of course, Jesse's crimes weren't severe enough to warrant the death penalty, which was why he was so calm.

Even though Niamh had multiple murders on her hands, she was pregnant, so the death penalty wouldn't be carried out until after the child was born.

As the police car drove away, Landon asked Ophelia, "Mrs. Abbott, are you really okay?"

"I'm fine," Ophelia said, though her head hurt a bit. She didn't want to trouble the police any further.

Landon admired Ophelia as such sacrifice and planning were hard to make, even for a man.

"Mrs. Abbott, weren't you afraid Niamh would go crazy and harm you? If that happened, getting her confession wouldn't be worth it," Landon asked.

Ophelia replied, "I was afraid, but I couldn't let myself have any regrets. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so I couldn't miss it. I had to seek justice for my mom. She's already buried and Natalie is in a vegetative state. Without Niamh's confession, my mom's death would remain a mystery."

There was no evidence pointing to Niamh.

Landon's eyes were full of admiration. "Mrs. Abbott, I'll be leaving now. You should get some rest."

"Mr. Benedict, thank you for your hard work." Ophelia nodded.

After all the police had left, Ophelia looked back at the Parks family villa and said, "Mom, you can rest in peace now."

Ophelia had no more regrets.

Ophelia left the Parks family villa and walked out of the neighborhood. As she was about to get into her car, she heard a car horn behind her. Turning around, she was stunned to see who was inside.

After boss's baby, she Escape
