Chapter 465 Poor Sperm Quality
A good marriage could heal all the misfortunes of a woman.
Meeting Finnegan was the luckiest thing for Ophelia.
After a passionate kiss, Finnegan let go of Ophelia, took her hand, and walked to the dining table. "Want to have a drink together? This is red wine, and you can drink it. There's also a karaoke machine here, so you can sing if you want."
It was like a versatile karaoke room here, with everything available.
Ophelia chuckled softly, "I sing terribly. I'm tone-deaf and never on key. Every time I sing the same song, it sounds different."
She used to go to karaoke with Seraphina and Magnus, when they had just graduated from college, full of passion.
Seraphina criticized Ophelia for being tone-deaf, and Magnus joked that one would die if they heard Ophelia singing.
Those precious times were gone and wouldn't return.
Finnegan handed the microphone to Ophelia. "Give it a try. Don't worry. If you sing badly, I won't make fun of you."
The words were familiar as it was how Seraphina used to encourage her to sing.
Finnegan selected a few classic songs that were familiar to everyone. Even if one couldn't sing them, he could hum along with the tune.
Ophelia shook her head. "No, you sing first. Come on."
She felt a bit embarrassed as her singing skills were really terrible.
"Okay," Finnegan smiled warmly. When the melody started playing, Ophelia was stunned the moment Finnegan began singing.
Finnegan's voice was charming. Ophelia sat on the sofa, quietly listening.
Holding the microphone, Finnegan gazed affectionately at Ophelia, singing with deep love. Ophelia was captivated.
Unexpectedly, Finnegan, who was usually reserved, sang so beautifully. It was an enjoyable experience. Ophelia clasped her hands under her chin, also gazing at Finnegan. As they locked eyes amidst the heartfelt lyrics, memories of their past two years together flooded Ophelia's mind.
From the initial confusion and panic to the eventual wholehearted acceptance and now having a happy family, Ophelia never realized so much time had quietly passed by.
For the past two years, the two of them had experienced a lot. Fortunately, Finnegan had been with her all along.
Lost in her thoughts, Ophelia felt her eyes welled up with tears, moved by the moment.
Finnegan changed the song to a soft melody. He got up, walked over, took her hand, wrapped his arm around her waist, and danced slowly to the music.
Guided by Finnegan's rhythm, Ophelia quickly followed his pace. In the romantic atmosphere, the two of them danced lightly, enjoying their own world.
Resting her head on his shoulder, Ophelia swayed gently with him.
Red wine was the best aphrodisiac. Ophelia remembered the department dinner where she had drunk too much and ended up in the wrong room.
Recalling the past, Ophelia felt like it was all a dream, "If I had been a bit unlucky back then, walked into the wrong room, and met a really bad man, my whole life might have been ruined."
Finnegan firmly said, "It wouldn't."
Curious, Ophelia asked, "Why?"
Finnegan earnestly replied, "Because you hid so well. Not everyone is as clever as me to find you."
At his words, Ophelia chuckled.
"You call yourself clever?" Ophelia teased Finnegan. "You searched me for so long, and you didn't even notice me right in front of you."
Finnegan sniffed the scent on Ophelia, still the smell of mint, which she had always used.
"I remember you said something before the accident." Finnegan smiled teasingly, "Later, I've tried hard to recall what you said."
Blushing, Ophelia asked, "So do you remember?"
"I do." Finnegan leaned close to Ophelia's ear, his voice low. "It was a misunderstanding at first. I made up for it with a sperm later. Blame it on my poor sperm quality, so it did not bring about success on the first attempt."
This remark amused Ophelia.
It was the first time she had heard a man blame his poor sperm quality.
Ophelia laughed, "You didn't put the blame on others. That's good."
"It's our fate, so you can't escape even if you wanted to," He said affectionately, "Meeting you is enough for me."
