Chapter 679 Matchmaking Lynn and Finnegan

Warmie had never said she missed her mom before.

It had been over six months since her mom passed, and while Warmie didn't remember much, she still felt that deep, unbreakable bond.

Lynn hugged her tight, sniffled, and whispered, "You miss your mom, huh?"

She glanced up at the starry sky outside. "Whenever you miss her, just look up. Your mom's a superhero. She's off fighting monsters on another planet. Once she's done, she'll come back to see you."

It was a little white lie Lynn made up on the spot, hoping to cheer Warmie up.

Warmie looked at the stars, trying to understand. "Mom is a star."

"Yeah, she's a beautiful star, and she's always protecting you." Lynn shifted gears. "Hey, look what I got you—a Barbie doll! Do you like it?"

Like a magician, Lynn pulled out a Barbie doll from behind her back, instantly grabbing Warmie's attention.

"Wow, I love it!" Warmie clapped her hands, beaming.

Lynn grinned. "How about we dress her up together?"

"Okay," Warmie replied softly, her voice sweet and soothing.

They played for a while until Warmie drank her milk and fell asleep.

After tucking her in, Lynn went downstairs to find Celia and Jude still in the living room.

Seeing Lynn, Celia said, "Thank you."

Celia had finally started to come to terms with her past mistakes and saw Lynn in a new light.

"Don't mention it," Lynn said. "I just wanted to keep her company."

Warmie was also Lynn's emotional anchor. Spending time with her always lifted Lynn's spirits after a long day.

Lynn asked, "Mrs. Abbott, why did Warmie say she missed her mom today? Did something happen?"

"Today, Finnegan finally agreed to a video call. Warmie didn't even recognize him," Celia sighed. "He looks like he's aged decades overnight. His hair's all white now."

Lynn was shocked. She knew Ophelia's accident had hit Finnegan hard, but she didn't expect him to still be so deep in grief.

"Is he still refusing to come back?" Lynn asked.

Jude and Celia exchanged a look; neither knew if Finnegan would return.

Everyone held onto a sliver of hope that for Warmie's sake, Finnegan would come back soon.

Lynn understood and didn't press further. "You should get some rest. I'll come by tomorrow. Take care."

Celia nodded. "Okay, be safe on your way home."

"Will do."

After Lynn left, Jude sighed, "If Finnegan had married Lynn back then, would things be different now?"

"What are you talking about?" Celia snapped. "Ophelia gave birth to Warmie and lost her life. How can you say that?"

"I didn't mean it like that. I just think if Finnegan had married Lynn, he might not be so deep in grief."

Celia sighed deeply. "Who knows? Do you think it's possible to match Lynn and Finnegan now?"

Jude thought for a moment. "Maybe. Lynn's great with Warmie and likes Finnegan. They know each other well. It might help him heal."

"I'll talk to her. Maybe she can take Warmie to the monastery and bring Finnegan back. I doubt he'll stay there forever."

Parents can't just watch their children fall apart.

The moon was full, and the wind was cold.

At the Stewart family home.

Tate was staying over. Barbara had talked with her for a long time and only returned to her room late at night, careful not to disturb Tate.

It was Tate's first time back home, and she felt the warmth and hospitality.

Just as she was about to rest, there was a knock on the door. "It's me. I brought you something."

It was Karen.

After boss's baby, she Escape
