Magnus had an accident.
Ophe hurriedly drove to the hospital and was stunned when she saw Magnus lying weak and emaciated in the hospital bed.

Ophe immediately thought of Magnus' biological parents, those bloodsuckers who wanted to drain him dry.

Knowing Ophe's temperament, Magnus honestly replied, "I just wanted to earn more money. After work, I took on a part-time job delivering takeout. When things got busy, I forgot to eat. Ophe, I'll pay more attention to rest from now on. Don't worry about me."
What Magnus said was only the tip of the iceberg.
He worked as a delivery driver and part-time Uber driver. When the delivery orders dwindled after 10 PM, he switched to driving for Uber until around 3 AM.
He had to go to work again at 8:30 AM the next day, with only five hours of sleep, which was not enough at all.
In order to make more money, he also went to donate blood for money.
Serenity had found a good school, but the tuition was too expensive. Thatwwas why Magnus was anxious to earn more money to pay for Serenity's tuition.
After Seraphina moved out, she once asked him for money. He didn't have any money, so he borrowed two thousand dollars from his coworker to give to Seraphina.
Ophe didn't suspect anything and said, "Starting today, no more deliveries. If you need help, let me know. We agreed before that we share the good times and the burdens. Finnegan gave me a lot of money..."
"That was given to you. How can I accept it?" Magnus interrupted Ophe, saying, "What will Abbott's Family think of you? I can't hold you back."
"If you end up like this, how can I be at ease?" Ophe asked, "Tell me, why are you so short of money? Is it because your parents asked you to pay for Jett's medical expenses again? Magnus, it would help if you were realistic. Jett is not your responsibility. Why should you take care of him?"
"Serenity has come to New York," Magnus said, looking at Ophe. "Now, I have adopted her, and I am her father. I have to take care of her. She is still so young and needs to go to school."

Tears welled up in Magnus' eyes as he struggled to force a smile. "Ophe, they are my family. I can't just ignore them. When we eat together as a family, it feels really warm. It's something I've never experienced before."
Thinking of the hardships of recent times, Magnus couldn't hold back his emotions any longer, and his eyes became moist.
Ophe felt especially sorry for him. She understood Magnus's longing for a family.

Ophe stopped trying to persuade him and accompanied Magnus as he received his IV treatment at the hospital. As they were about to be discharged, a blood donor card accidentally fell out of Magnus' pocket. Ophe could no longer control her emotions.
