Chapter 385 One for One
Ophelia spent $160 million to see Morgan.
She calculated in her mind and thought it was worth it.
Now, she was racing against time and had to rescue Finnegan as soon as possible. Morgan had connections in both the underworld and the legitimate world, making it very difficult for her to meet him.
Now that she had met Morgan, everything would be easier.
Before coming, Ophelia had already figured out Morgan's preferences. He loved women and gambling.
Ophelia deliberately asked, "Can you make the decision?"
Morgan laughed heartily, "This entire casino is mine. Beautiful lady, you can play however you want. You can pick anyone here."
Before meeting Ophelia, Morgan had wondered what kind of pregnant woman she would be, as men often stereotyped pregnant women as not very attractive.
But Ophelia was a pleasant surprise to Morgan.
Pregnancy had not affected Ophelia's looks. Instead, it added a touch of charm, with a unique grace and gentleness, which was most captivating.
Ophelia also admitted that her outfit tonight was deliberately designed to seduce Morgan.
Morgan's gaze at Ophelia made Mary feel threatened. She knew very well that her good life depended on Morgan's protection. If she fell out of favor, she would be nothing.
Ophelia touched her belly and smiled, "I've already lost so much today. I would play one last time. Would you be interested in playing with me?"
Morgan didn't take Ophelia seriously and laughed, "No problem. It's my honor to play with a beautiful lady."
"Alright." Ophelia said, placing her hands on the table. "Let's keep it simple. One dies, and the highest number wins. We each roll once, and the bet is $160 million."
Such a simple game with so much money at stake shocked everyone present.
'Who was this woman? Was she just rich and foolish?' They were all confused.
Morgan also thought Ophelia's proposal was ridiculous. It was the first time someone had suggested such a simple game, relying entirely on luck.
In local area, few dared to gamble with him, and Ophelia was the first with such a large bet.
Morgan remained silent, and Ophelia raised an eyebrow. "What? Are you afraid to play?"
If he didn't play, he would lose his dignity.
Morgan had to play.
"Beautiful lady, are you sure you want to play a high-stakes game with me?" Morgan laughed arrogantly, "I've never lost."
Ophelia shrugged. "I'm just in a bad mood, spending some money to find something fun. If I win, I'll take my money and go home. If I lose, it's just entertainment."
Tate, standing by, couldn't understand what was happening.
Morgan laughed, "No problem. Let's see who rolls the highest number."
With that, Morgan took a die from the table and handed it to Ophelia. "Ladies first."
Ophelia smiled, "I'm a bit tired. I'll rest for a moment. Boss, you go first."
Morgan took back the die and, under everyone's watchful eyes, rolled it on the table. When it stopped, the number was five.
Seeing this result, Morgan laughed, "Beautiful lady, it looks like you won't get your money back."
Ophelia had to roll a six to win, which was a very slim chance.
Ophelia was anxious inside but remained calm on the surface. She picked up the die from the table, and everyone watched her hand closely.
As the die rolled on the table, Ophelia's heart raced, and everyone stared at it.
When the die finally stopped, the room fell silent.
Seeing the number, Ophelia exhaled and smiled, "Sorry, boss, I won."
After losing eight rounds in a row, Ophelia finally won and regained all the money she had lost.
Morgan's face turned ugly. A simple game of rolling a die involved no skill. It was pure luck, a real gamble.
"Tate, collect the money. Let's go home." Ophelia said, standing up to leave without hesitation.
"Wait." Morgan called out, "We only played once. That's not enough. How about we play again with higher stakes? That would be more interesting."
Ophelia paused and looked back at Morgan. She knew he had taken the bait.
Gambling and beauty could cloud a person's judgment.
Ophelia smiled faintly and deliberately walked up to Morgan, who was standing very close. Her fragrance lingered around Morgan, making his heart flutter.
Morgan had lived half his life and slept with countless women, but he had never been with a beautiful pregnant woman.
Ophelia deliberately rejected, "I'm tired and don't want to play anymore. I don't need money, and neither do you. It's not funny playing this."
Morgan, captivated by Ophelia, blurted out, "Then let's play a bigger game. If you lose, you're mine. If I lose, you can name your condition."
