Chapter 577 Exposed
Emerson had been terrified by the trouble Niamh caused recently. At night, Emerson didn't even dare to go upstairs.
Since the dog went missing, Emerson cooked less and less. She felt miserable and had no appetite, barely buying any groceries.
Lori worked as a nanny for others and couldn't come to keep Emerson company every day.
During the day, Emerson wasn't as scared. However, as soon as night fell, fear gripped her heart.
When night descended, Emerson gathered the clothes from the yard, cooked some noodles, and cleaned up the dishes. The kitchen was spotless, with not a single noodle left. The fridge only had a few vegetables.
After finishing everything, Emerson went back to her room to rest.
Niamh, who was living in the attic, was starving. She quietly came downstairs, sneaked into the kitchen, and rummaged through the cabinets but found nothing to eat.
She only found half an apple in the fridge, which Emerson had left.
Desperate with hunger, Niamh had no choice but to eat it.
She couldn't cook, as it would wake Emerson, which would cause big trouble.
Niamh had been hiding here for almost a month and was going crazy. She couldn't go out, eat well, or dress properly.
She couldn't even do laundry. All the clothes she had worn were stuffed into the wardrobe.
She barely had any clean clothes to wear.
After eating the half apple, Niamh passed through the living room and saw the phone. She thought of Jesse and glanced at Emerson's room, hearing her snoring.
"Sleeping heavily like a log," Niamh muttered under her breath, then picked up the landline to call Jesse.
This was the first time Niamh had contacted Jesse since her escape.
Jesse was under police surveillance and didn't dare to come to the Parks family to find Niamh.
Receiving a call from an unknown number, Jesse was cautious. "Hello, who is this?"
"It's me." Hearing Jesse's voice, Niamh almost broke down in tears. She felt so wronged, hiding here while pregnant with Jesse's child.
Hearing it was Niamh, Jesse was also shocked. "Where are you? Are you still at the Parks family? Niamh, don't run around. The police are looking for you everywhere. I'm also under surveillance and can't come to you right now. You must hide well. Once things calm down, I'll take you abroad."
"How do you know that I'm at the Parks family?" Niamh was surprised.
"I had a gang get you out of prison. I didn't expect them to send you back to the Parks family," Jesse said. " The most dangerous place would be the safest, so I didn't come looking for you."
"Jesse, I'm so hungry." Niamh's spirit had been worn down. Living in the attic for so long without losing her mind was already a miracle.
"Hungry?" Jesse was puzzled. "Then find something to eat."
"Emerson doesn't cook much or buy groceries. I can't get enough to eat." Niamh felt more and more wronged and angry. "Jesse, take me abroad quickly. I can't stand it here any longer."
"Niamh, calm down. You must endure. I'm also looking for a chance to get you out," Jesse comforted her. "You're wanted everywhere. If you show up, you'll be exposed. By the way, how's the baby?"
Jesse was very concerned about Niamh's baby, as it was his first child.
Niamh looked down at her slightly swollen belly, feeling even more emotional. "Jesse, I'll give you a few days. You must get me out of here quickly. Find that gang. If they could get me out of prison, they can get me out of the country, too. I've had enough of starving."
Because of her agitation, Niamh's voice grew louder, waking Emerson in her room.
Emerson opened her eyes, vaguely hearing voices in the living room, which scared her.
'How could there be someone in the living room? Could it be a thief?' Emerson thought.
Emerson carefully lifted the blanket, put on a coat, and quietly walked to the door. She opened it a crack and peeked into the living room through the gap.
