Chapter 41 You Live Here Too

Ophelia had too many reservations.
If she had someone backing her, if she had enough capital, she would also try with Finnegan. Even if there was no outcome, she wouldn't care. But it was impossible now. He was at the top of the food chain, and she was just a lowly employee. Even worse, he had a girlfriend; this was a matter of principle.
Ophelia calmed down and stayed in the bathroom for a long time before she finally came out.
Finnegan was sitting on the caregiver's bed smoking; he was also calming himself down. After hearing her footsteps, Finnegan turned his head to look at her and extinguished the cigarette in his hand.
"You sleep on the bed, it's softer."
Ophelia glanced at the sickbed. How could she? He was the patient.
"Mr. Abbott, no need, you sleep on the sickbed; I can sleep on the caregiver's bed."
Finnegan was firm, "This is an order."
With that, he laid down on the caregiver's bed, leaving Ophelia no choice but to sleep on the sickbed.
Ophelia felt guilty, Finnegan had saved her life, and now she was occupying his sickbed, it was truly a sin.
Ophelia laid down. She couldn’t bear to look at Finnegan, so she turned her body, leaving her back facing Finnegan.
Neither of them spoke again; the ward was very quiet.
At first, Ophelia couldn't sleep; she was still replaying the kiss in her mind.
By the latter half of the night, sleepiness overtook her, and she fell asleep.
Finnegan, however, couldn't sleep. He stared at Ophelia on the sickbed, his mind filled with not so polite thoughts. That intense feeling came back, the desire to possess someone.
The following day.
Ophelia was woken up by the nurse.
"Time for rounds. Where is the patient from this bed?"
Ophelia glanced at the caregiver's bed. Finnegan wasn't there. He was injured and still not resting? Why was he running around everywhere?!
"I'll go find him," Ophelia said.
The nurse smiled, "Your boyfriend is really good to you. Even though he's injured, he left the sickbed for you."
Ophelia felt a bit awkward, "Actually, he..."
Before Ophelia could explain, Finnegan came back from outside.
"Mr. Abbott, where did you go? It's time for rounds," Ophelia got off the sickbed.
"Just went out for a bit," Finnegan had just reached the door and happened to hear what the nurse said.
Ophelia gave the sickbed back to Finnegan. After the nurse finished the rounds, she left.
"Mr. Abbott, are you hungry?" Ophelia asked, "I'll go buy some food."
Finnegan was still the same cool and emotionless CEO, "Also, handle the discharge. We're going back to City A this afternoon."
"Going back this afternoon?" Ophelia asked, "Did the doctor agree? Can you be discharged? What about Mason? Are we not investigating?"
"He's already been put away," Finnegan said lightly, "There's trouble at the old mansion; I need to go back."
Ophelia was dumbstruck. Finnegan really did what he said. He had put Mason away so quickly. No wonder there was trouble at the Abbott family's old mansion.
"Alright, Mr. Abbott, I'll go handle it right away."
They could only take the train back. Finnegan couldn't drive because of his injury, and Ophelia didn't know how to drive.
The train was quick. By three in the afternoon, they had reached City A.
Atticus was waiting at the train station exit, "Mr. Abbott, Miss Sinclair."
Upon seeing the injury on Finnegan's head, Atticus asked with concern, "Mr. Abbott, your head injury, is it okay?"
"It's nothing serious," Finnegan got into the car.
Ophelia also obediently got in.
Finnegan suddenly said, "First, drop Miss Sinclair off, then go to the old mansion."
"I'll go to the old mansion with you, Mr. Abbott," Ophelia immediately said.
Finnegan smirked, "Aren't you afraid of being skinned alive by the people at the old mansion?"
Ophelia was a bit taken aback.
"Mr. Abbott, I am your subordinate, and it's work hours now. This is part of my job."
"You don't need to go," Finnegan controlled his expression, "Take two days off."
This happiness came too suddenly.
Ophelia wanted to say something, but Atticus chimed in, "Miss Sinclair, I can accompany Mr. Abbott; you've worked hard by following Mr. Abbott to City B, so go back and rest for two days."
Ophelia didn't say anything else, "Orchid Bay Community."
This address seemed familiar to Finnegan.
When they arrived at Orchid Bay Community, Finnegan asked, "You live here too?"
Finnegan had been here before. Seraphina lived here.
Too?
Ophelia was puzzled. Did Finnegan know someone else who lived here?
This was a very ordinary old community, and the rent was cheap, which was why Ophelia chose to live here.
"Yeah, what about it?" Ophelia asked, "Mr. Abbott, do you have friends living here too?"
After boss's baby, she Escape
