Chapter 274 Clarification and Self-Proof
After Magnus spoke, he walked to the door without looking back at the two. The four bodyguards immediately took action, carrying Jett out of the wheelchair and dragging Tobias away.
Then, Jett cursed furiously, "Magnus, you're a villain! You've bullied my daughter, and now you want to kick us out. You're heartless! If I weren't disabled, I'd beat you to a pulp!"
The bodyguards left Jett in the corridor and began packing up the Cobb's family's belongings, throwing everything related to them outside. Jett and Tobias continued their tirade and drew a crowd of onlookers.
Tobias whispered to the neighbors, "Did you see that? That's my despicable son, who molested my little niece. Now he's kicking us out."
Jett chimed in, "Magnus, you've gone too far! You even kicked out your father. You have no conscience! If I weren't disabled, I'd beat you to a pulp!"
Despite their insults, Magnus remained silent and looked at them coldly.
Soon, the Cobb's Family's belongings were packed. One of the bodyguards said, "Magnus, we'll help you carry them to the community entrance."
"Thank you," Magnus replied.
The four bodyguards escorted Jett and Tobias out, causing a commotion in the neighborhood. As Magnus reached the community gate, more and more people gathered, looking at him with curiosity.
Unable to bear it any longer, Magnus spoke up, "Wait, put them down first."
The bodyguards released Jett and Tobias. When he seized the opportunity, Tobias lunged at Magnus, but the bodyguards held him back.
"You scum! Do you want to kick us out? I'm your father! How could you do such a despicable thing?"
Jett also cursed, "Magnus, you'll get what you deserve! Everyone, let's reason with him. Look at this heartless man. He bullied my daughter, a child of only a few years. Now that we've accused him, he's trying to kick us out. Isn't this just bullying me for being disabled and my father for being old? He's nothing but a beast!"
"Have you finished your insults?" Magnus remained surprisingly calm and stared at the two and then at the onlookers.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Magnus, the heartless man you've been cursing online. They say I bullied my little niece, but I never did such a thing. If I'm lying, let me be run over by a car." Magnus swore, but that wasn't enough to clear his name. He needed evidence, not baseless accusations.
"I'm an orphan. I grew up in an orphanage. I've suffered a lot over the years. I long for a family and relatives. So, I've been searching for them. Just a few months ago, I found them and brought them to New York." Magnus's voice choked up, and his eyes reddened. He was a sensitive person, and all this talk naturally made him feel uneasy.
"You all know how difficult it is to survive in New York. I'm a lawyer and a newcomer, and my salary isn't high. It's not a problem for me to survive alone, but it isn't easy to support a family. However, in such a situation, I still firmly brought them all here, including an older brother who is paralyzed and unable to take care of himself, elderly parents, and a niece who is in kindergarten."
Magnus took out several blood donation certificates from his bag. "Do you know what these are? These are blood donation certificates. When I didn't have money, I supported this family by selling my blood. I took on several part-time jobs, and I ended up in the hospital from exhaustion. But what was my family doing? They were draining me and trying to ruin me, all because they wanted to get more money from me to buy a house in their hometown. The first time I refused them, they accused me of molesting my little niece."
