Chapter 294: Heartache
Magnus was beaten by Tobias.
Ophelia could only go to the hospital to visit Magnus, who was still in the operating room getting his wound stitched up.
Tobias has been taken into custody by the police.
Finnegan helped pay the hospital bills and inquired about Magnus's injuries.
Tobias took an extreme path. Magnus did not support him, which made him furious. In the middle of the night, he followed Magnus, and just as Magnus parked his car on the way to the performance, Tobias threw a stone at him, sending Magnus to the hospital.
Magnus, with over a dozen stitches on his head, was pushed out of the operating room after the surgery.
Ophelia saw Magnus with his head wrapped in bandages, feeling quite angry.
Magnus not only had a wound on his head but also bruises on his face.
The doctor also mentioned that Magnus had multiple soft tissue contusions on his body.
The Middle-aged Magnus couldn't defeat the elderly Tobias?
No!
It's that Magnus did not fight back.
In the ward, Finnegan knew that the two had something to discuss, so he said to Ophelia, "I'm going to find the doctor."
Ophelia nodded, and after Finnegan left, she pulled out a chair and sat down.
The anesthesia in Magnus's body wore off, but he remained silent, lying there motionless.
Ophelia sighed, "Tobias is in jail."
Ophelia knew without asking that Magnus wouldn't report Tobias. After all, he wouldn't actually send Tobias in.
Tobias did not plead guilty in the detention center, declaring that he was just a reasonable father disciplining his son.
Tobias would be detained in there for at most two to three days before coming out.
Magnus suppressed his emotions and said, "Ophelia, sorry to bother you again. You and Finnegan can go back; I'll be fine."
These injuries were nothing to Magnus as superficial wounds could be healed.
But Tobias's act of beating him was like a needle stuck in Magnus's heart, unable to be removed, which was the most hurtful.
Magnus could still recall the look Tobias gave him, full of hatred and murderous intent, as if he really wanted to kill him.
Ophelia also knew that Magnus needed a rest, so she said, "Well, if anything I can help, just call me. Finnegan and I will head back first."
Magnus nodded without saying anything.
Ophelia still worried about Magnus. She walked out of the ward and saw Finnegan standing in the hallway, talking on the phone. As she approached, she overheard that the company's project investment had failed.
Seeing Ophelia coming out, Finnegan hung up the phone, saying, "You came out so quickly. Is Magnus okay?"
"He needed to be alone. We'd better not disturb him here." Ophelia asked, "Did I hear that something happened at the company just now?"
"There's nothing major going on," Finnegan said, downplaying the situation. "Just a minor issue that I can handle."
Finnegan's abilities were well known to Ophelia, so she wasn't worried.
Finnegan changed the subject. "Let me take you out to dinner first."
After watching the performance, they planed to invite Lynn to have dinner together at the beginning. But due to Magnus's situation, they could only make it another day.
"Let's go home and have dinner. Just ask Lina to make some sandwiches," Ophelia said. "I've been gaining weight recently. By the way, can you look something up for me?"
They walked towards the parking lot while chatting.
"What are you looking for?"
Ophelia asked, "Does Natalie have a daughter? Abbott's Family has been interacting with the Parks Family for many years. You should know a little about it, right?"
"Natalie has a daughter? I haven't heard of that," Finnegan said. "The Parks Family has an unwritten rule that only the first child can inherit the family business. After Dovie took over the company, Natalie wasn't in New York often, as she was developing business in Europe. However, after Niamh returned to the Parks Family, Natalie started spending more time in New York."
"Are they not getting along?" Ophelia asked curiously, "Do you also not like Natalie? Otherwise, you wouldn't address her by name."
"Natalie, I don't have a good impression of her. I also don't know the situation between Rhodes and Delaney." Finnegan suddenly remembered something, saying, "But Natalie isn't married; I haven't heard of her being with anyone. Where did her daughter come from? If she really has one, it's impossible not to have heard about it. My mom loves gossiping about others the most."
