Chapter 594 Being Followed

Showing weakness was currently the best way to protect themselves.

Lloyd was different from other competitors, so naturally, a different approach was needed.

The next day, Jude went to the company.

Finnegan had already told Linda that when Jude arrived at the company, Linda should receive him and arrange everything.

Susan was shocked to learn that Jude had gone to the company, but upon knowing that Finnegan had agreed, she calmed down and didn't ask further.

Susan unconditionally trusts Finnegan; there must be a reason for this decision.

Jude was given a temporary position as general manager at the company, with some real power.

But this was just on the surface. When it came to making major decisions, Linda wouldn't consult Jude but would report to Finnegan first.

Atticus was still recuperating and couldn't go to work for the time being, so Linda and the secretarial team were busy.

Meanwhile, Tate also started working at Hawthorne's Corporation as Caspian's secretary.

Caspian was a laid-back employee at the company and hadn't really taken over any responsibilities. Currently, it was still Caspian's father, Aaron Hawthorne, who was in charge.

Caspian rented an apartment next to Tate's to monitor her and prevent Moonlight Gate residents from locating her.

It was undoubtedly Tate's first time working as a secretary, whether before or after her amnesia.

Tate didn't know what special skills she had. After being assigned to the secretarial department, she discovered that she could understand several languages and read texts from different countries.

So, all the translation tasks in the secretarial department were handed over to Tate.

Tate took her salary without complaint and worked diligently.

Caspian stood outside the secretarial department, looking at Tate through the window, muttering, "She really has skills. This salary is well-deserved."

Tate had her hair in a ponytail, wearing a white suit with a white camisole underneath, looking quite professional.

Tate's outstanding appearance attracted male colleagues on her first day, who started inquiring about her, preparing to pursue her.

Tate was indifferent and rejected any goodwill from others.

After work, Caspian waited in his car downstairs. "Tate, get in the car. Let's go home together."

Tate wouldn't take anyone else's car, but Caspian was her creditor, so she got in his car.

Moreover, he was the first person she met after her amnesia who knew her, even though their initial meeting was a bit awkward.

Tate got in the car and said, "You mentioned Ophelia last time. Take me to see her."

"Why do you want to see her?" Caspian started the car.

Tate said, "You said I knew her. I want to see if I can remember anything."

"She might be busy. How about another day?" Caspian said, "Finnegan is blind, and Ophelia is at the hospital with him."

"Caspian, you said I was from Moonlight Gate. What does Moonlight Gate do?" Tate asked, "Where is my home? Where are my family? Do I have any other friends?"

Caspian laughed, "Tate, seriously? It's been so long. And you are asking me these question now?"

Tate gave him a look.

Caspian became serious. "I don't know where you live or who your family are as you never told me. As for Moonlight Gate, I don't know either. You said you were from Moonlight Gate. Were you lying to me?"

Caspian's words were half-true as he also wanted Tate to live as an ordinary person.

But he really didn't know much about Tate's past.

Tate asked, "Then how did we meet?"

"You were Ophelia's bodyguard. That's how we met," Caspian said. "Don't ask me anything else. I don't know. You used to be aloof and mysterious, never saying anything."

Tate held onto a glimmer of hope and asked, "Does Ophelia know?"

"Ophelia doesn't know either. You were just her bodyguard for a few months," Caspian comforted. "Tate, the past doesn't matter. Focus on now. Losing your memory isn't necessarily a bad thing, is it?"

'If she remembered she was an assassin, would she kill me first?' he thought.

Tate said expressionlessly, "I want to know if I had any savings before."

Caspian was speechless.

"Do you know Aria?" Tate recalled that vague dream. "My name is Tate. Is Aria my sister or something?"

"Aria? You never mentioned her." Caspian thought to himself, 'Is Aria another assassin from Moonlight Gate? Is she really Tate's sister?'

This was an important clue.

As they were talking, Tate noticed someone following them. Her eyes narrowed sharply. "Stop the car ahead. Let's go into the mall. We're being followed."

After boss's baby, she Escape
