Chapter 315 Bad Ideas
Niamh had to learn to behave.
When others tried to teach her something, she didn't learn; when she was taught by real events, she quickly catched on.
Niamh no longer dared to let her personality run wild as before.
After removing her makeup and calming her emotions, she went to open the door.
Niamh smiled and asked, "What's up?"
"Niamh, are you okay?" Dovie, seeing Niamh still able to smile, became even more worried.
Niamh replied, "I'm fine, just took off my makeup."
Dovie hesitated, "Niamh, you're not mad at me, are you?"
"Why would I be? You're good for me. That is great. I'm engaged now, and I'm getting married at the end of the year. When Ricky comes over, I'll have a family so you can all relax." Niamh spoke calmly, "Mom, I'm engaged now, not a child anymore. I'll learn to do business with you properly. This time, I won't disappoint you."
"Okay." Dovie didn't seem as happy as expected.
Niamh's sudden compliance made Dovie feel uneasy.
"Mom, good night." Niamh smiled. "See you tomorrow."
"Good night," Dovie forced a smile.
Niamh closed the door, and Dovie, looking dazed, returned to the bedroom, where she met Natalie in the hallway.
Seeing Dovie's bewildered expression, Natalie asked, "Dovie, what's wrong?"
"Just now, I saw Niamh; she seemed emotionally stable and even said good night to me." Dovie sensed something was amiss. “How did she transform so abruptly, discussing business with me, being engaged, and no longer behaving like a child, but rather mature?"
Upon hearing this, Natalie felt pleased. Her move had indeed been the right one.
She was well aware that what truly made Niamh face reality was the paternity test report.
Niamh dared not misbehave anymore, fearing being abandoned.
Only with a sense of crisis would she truly change.
Natalie said with a smile, "I was right. Just getting engaged can make Niamh grow up quickly. Time will fade everything away. Who will remember Niamh's little affair with Ricky in the future? If Ricky misbehaves, he can be kicked out. Choosing him now is to solve the problems and help Niamh grow."
Watching Niamh's transformation, Dovie wasn't sure if it was a good thing.
"Let's observe for a while and pay more attention to Niamh's emotions." Dovie worried. "I'm afraid she might suppress herself and develop depression."
"It won't happen. Trust me."
In her room, Niamh's hatred had not dissipated, so she called Seraphina.
"When are you going to act? I want to see Ophelia regret and suffer now. I can't wait any longer."
Niamh was agitated, wishing harm upon Ophelia.
On the other end, Seraphina was at Magnus's house, having taken care of Magnus in the hospital for a while and gaining his trust.
Magnus didn't stay in the house Ophelia gave him; he rented a two-bedroom house.
Riley and Serenity were settled in another neighborhood.
As Ophelia predicted, Riley secretly brought Jett back, and Tobias moved in with them after being released from detention.
It was like going back to square one, just living separately.
Receiving Niamh's call, Seraphina said, "I'm waiting for the right opportunity."
"What are you waiting for? Isn't it easy for you to act?" Niamh snapped on the phone. "Do you want money? After it's done, I'll give you tens of thousands more."
"I'll find an opportunity as soon as possible." Seraphina was tempted. "I'll let you know once it's done."
"Soon," Niamh issued an ultimatum. "Three days, that's all you have."
Before Seraphina could respond, Niamh hung up.
At that moment, Magnus returned with bags of items.
Seraphina helped carry them. "You bought so much."
"It's all for Ophelia," Magnus said, "I was wrong last time. Now that I'm discharged, I should see her. I don't know if she's having a boy or a girl, so I bought a few sets of clothes and some supplements for pregnant women. I'll take them over tomorrow."
Seeing the boxes of supplements in the bag and thinking about Niamh's three-day deadline, Seraphina had a wicked idea and immediately said, "You're going to take them over tomorrow? It's time to apologize to Ophelia. I'll come back tomorrow morning, and we can go to see Ophelia together. You should rest early, too."
