Chapter 510 Women Sure Have Big Tempers

Caspian stood at the door, realizing there was no reason to hide; this was his house after all.

"Forget it. I won't argue with girls." Caspian muttered to himself, hands on hips, looking silly, finding an excuse for his fear of Tate.

Caspian saw Grace return and gestured without speaking. Grace, seeing Caspian acting suspiciously, walked over. "Caspian, what are you doing, acting so suspiciously in your own home? This is Tate's room. What are you doing here? Could it be...?"

Grace had a sudden realization, eyes widening, reaching out to pat Caspian. "Caspian, how could you do such a thing!" Grace thought Caspian was peeking at Tate, which was shameful.

Caspian looked puzzled. "Mom, what did I do? Don't hit me. It hurts."

Grace and Caspian's commotion alerted Tate inside the room. Tate put on clothes and opened the door.

Grace and Caspian, both feeling guilty, stood there quietly, as if they had done something wrong.

Tate was speechless.

"Aunt Grace, what can I do for you?" Tate spoke first.

Grace felt a bit embarrassed. Unable to expose her son's peeping, she affectionately said, "Tate, are you hungry? What would you like to eat? I'll have the servants make it for you."

The affectionate 'Tate' made Tate's expression slightly stiff. She hadn't heard it in many years. The last time she heard someone call her so affectionately was her friend Aria Hall.

When she was fifteen, she and Aria went on a mission together. On the first mission, Aria died, but she survived.

Unknowingly, a hint of sadness appeared in Tate's eyes, surprising Caspian and Grace. Caspian and Grace exchanged glances.

Caspian proudly said, "You're touched, right? My mom is just kind-hearted. When you're with us, you can enjoy yourself, no matter who you offend outside. As long as you're here, you can be at peace, and no one dares touch you."

"Thank you," Tate suddenly said these two words. For so many years, she had not received any warmth or kindness but from Ophelia, and it was only at this moment that she felt warmth again.

Grace smiled, "Don't be so polite. You're Caspian's friend. For a girl, it's not easy to encounter difficulties outside. If you like it here, just stay here. I'll consider you my goddaughter."

Upon hearing the goddaughter's proposal, Caspian widened his eyes. 'Am I going to have another sister?' he thought.

Tate also paused for a moment. She had never thought about being a goddaughter to anyone. Thinking of her situation, Tate shook her head. "No need."

Tate's refusal was straightforward as she didn't want to involve the Hawthorne family.

But when this fell on Grace's ears, she felt a bit sad. Grace awkwardly said, "It's okay. You guys talk. I'll go check on the kitchen." Feeling a bit awkward, Grace used the excuse to leave.

Tate wanted to explain, but the words stopped at her lips. She wasn't the type to explain herself.

Caspian stared at Tate. "I'm not willing to have a sister as indifferent as you. My mom just said it casually. Don't take it seriously." This was said to save Grace's face, deliberately speaking harshly.

"I didn't take it seriously," Tate said expressionlessly. "I'm leaving now."

Tate had received orders from Moonlight Gate and had to leave. Tate also asked her friends in Moonlight Gate to help check, but they found no record of the employer who wanted Finnegan's life nor any record of the job, which puzzled Tate.

Her tasks had always been directly assigned by her master. Just an hour ago, she received a message from her master, with the time shortened, giving her only a month.

'Who exactly wanted Finnegan's life?' she thought.

Tate said she was leaving and left without another word, heading downstairs.

Caspian was confused, thinking he had said something wrong that made Tate angry.

But Caspian had his own temper. He didn't try to stop her at first. Seeing her walk to the hall downstairs, he followed. "You are hurt. Where can you go, back to Ophelia's?"

"It's my business. You don't need to worry." Tate walked out the door.

Caspian said angrily, "Fine, I won't meddle. It's up to you."

When Grace came out and saw Tate had left, she asked, "Where is she? Why did she leave? Did you make Tate angry?"

"How would I know she has such a temper?" Caspian actually felt a bit regretful. 'Did I really make her leave?'

He quickly called Ophelia to let her know, in case Tate went back to the Abbott family.
