Chapter 682 Meeting Warmie

When Karen heard about the hiking trip, she immediately felt resistant. She hated those kinds of activities; they always wore her out.

But when she realized the whole family was going, she didn't want to be left out. Before she could say anything, Eugene chimed in, "Karen, I know you hate hiking and won't go. Why don't you check out the new store your mom bought for you?"

The first part of Eugene's comment made Karen furious, but the second part lit up her face. "Thanks, Mom and Dad! I'll check it out later. You guys are the best."

A store in Yorkhaven, any one of them worth millions. To Karen, this was way better than hiking. Her parents giving her a store? That was true love in her eyes. And Tate? She had nothing; companionship was worthless. Comparing the two, Karen felt ecstatic.

Barbara said with a smile. "Let's eat."

Tate stayed expressionless, quietly sitting down to eat.

Just a store, Tate didn't care. She never compared these things in her heart.

Raymond didn't care either. He poured a glass of milk for Tate, and the family had a peaceful breakfast.

After breakfast, Tate set off to hike with her parents.

Raymond played chauffeur for the family.

At the Abbott family mansion.

Lynn had a day off and came to spend the morning with Warmie. Celia took the chance to suggest, "Lynn, why don't you take Warmie to the monastery and bring Finnegan back? Maybe seeing Warmie will make him come back."

Lynn wanted Finnegan to pull himself together too. "I can try, but no promises."

Celia was pleased with Lynn's quick agreement. "Do your best. Just taking Warmie there is enough."

"Okay, when should we go?"

"Anytime. How about today? No time like the present," Celia said eagerly. "Finnegan's been at the monastery for over half a year. Poor Warmie."

Lynn hesitated for a moment. "Alright, I'll arrange my work and take Warmie this afternoon."

"Sure, no problem. You handle your work, and I'll arrange the trip to the monastery," Celia said, feeling hopeful.

Lynn called Carl to arrange her work but didn't mention the trip to the monastery, fearing Carl might overthink it.

In the afternoon, Lynn set off for the monastery with Warmie after arranging everything. Worried that Lynn couldn't take care of Warmie alone, Celia arranged for a nanny to go with them.

From Yorkhaven to the monastery, it was just a few hours, with a flight and then a car ride up the mountain.

At this moment, Finnegan had no idea that Warmie was on her way.

Finnegan stood on the observation deck at the back of the mountain, gazing at a vast expanse of white.

It had snowed all night, covering everything in a silver blanket, creating a magnificent scene.

However, in Finnegan's eyes, such beauty was filled with desolation.

No matter how beautiful the scenery, without the loved one by your side, it was all meaningless.

Eli came running again. "Master, aren't you cold?"

Eli was bundled up in thick clothes. He loved visiting Finnegan and would come whenever he had no classes.

"Not cold." Finnegan glanced at Eli and asked, "Why aren't you in class?"

"Class is over," Eli replied with a smile. "Master, why are you standing here again, enjoying the view?"

"Yes," Finnegan answered perfunctorily.

Eli fell silent, staying with Finnegan for a while. Finding it boring, he soon left.

Quickly, the sky darkened again.

Only then did Finnegan return to his room to continue copying scriptures. He suddenly sensed someone at the door after some time.

Finnegan got up to open the door and looked down to see a little girl in a pink and blue down jacket standing before him.

At the first sight of the little girl, Finnegan's nose tingled, and his eyes instantly welled up. "Warmie."

Warmie looked up at Finnegan, recognizing him as the gray-haired grandpa she saw in the video yesterday. In her sweet childlike voice, she called out, "Grandpa."

To her, gray hair meant old age, so she called him that.

Hearing this, Finnegan couldn't hold back anymore. He knelt down, hugging Warmie and crying bitterly.

Lynn stepped out from the side, standing quietly without interrupting. She, too, had tears in her eyes.

After boss's baby, she Escape
