Chapter 688 He Returned to the Past

Lynn was worried about Finnegan being alone. He seemed pretty unstable right now.

"You said you saw Ophelia," Lynn said. "I'll go with you. We'll find her together."

Finnegan, eager to find Ophelia, didn't say much more.

The two of them, along with Warmie, headed to the police department. Finnegan was convinced he'd seen Ophelia, who had been missing for over six months. Given the public attention the case had received and Finnegan's social standing, the police quickly pulled up the surveillance footage.

Finnegan's eyes were glued to the screen. When the footage showed a man and a woman riding away on a motorcycle, he got super excited.

"Pause, zoom in," Finnegan said, pointing at the screen.

The footage was paused and zoomed in, revealing the people in the image clearly.

Lynn saw it too and was shocked. "It really is Ophelia. She's alive."

Finnegan's eyes welled up as he stared at the screen, his long-suppressed emotions finally breaking free. He started crying with excitement.

"Ophelia is alive. It's her," Finnegan said, looking at the police. "Please check the owner of the motorcycle."

Finding the owner would lead them to Ophelia.

The police immediately began the investigation, as it was their duty.

Finnegan couldn't wait, but it was late. Only the duty officers were at the station, and it would take some time for the police to check.

The police asked Finnegan to go home and wait for news, but he refused to leave, so they arranged for him to wait in the lounge.

Lynn held Warmie, who had already fallen asleep. She looked at Warmie in her arms and then at the surveillance footage of Ophelia, feeling puzzled.

'If it really was Ophelia, why hadn't she come home after being missing for more than half a year? Ophelia couldn't possibly abandon Warmie and Finnegan,' she thought.

Lynn wanted to express her doubts to Finnegan, but seeing how excited he was, she couldn't bring herself to say it.

After a long wait, the police found the motorcycle owner's information, but it didn't match the young man riding it. The motorcycle must have been borrowed.

It was so late that the police again asked Finnegan to go home and come back tomorrow to investigate further.

They couldn't go looking for the owner in the middle of the night as the person wasn't a criminal.

Lynn persuaded Finnegan, "We've already found her. Just wait until tomorrow to check. We've waited more than half a year. A few more hours won't matter. If it's really Ophelia, she might not even recognize you in your current state."

These words reminded Finnegan that his hair was now completely white, which might scare Ophelia.

"Alright, let's go back to the hotel first," Finnegan said, looking a bit dazed.

However, after dropping Lynn and Warmie off at the hotel, he went to a hair salon to dye his hair back to black.

The salon was about to close, and the owner said, "Sir, how about coming back tomorrow? It's very late now, and dyeing your hair will take one or two hours."

Finnegan took out a thousand dollars and handed it to the owner.

"Can we start now?" Finnegan asked.

Normally, dyeing hair cost only onehundred dollars, so the owner definitely wouldn't reject Finnegan.

The owner immediately smiled warmly and said, "Come this way. I'll wash your hair first. What color would you like?"

In the world of the wealthy, money talks, and there's no need for unnecessary words.

There's no task that can't be done; it's just a matter of whether the price is right.

Finnegan had his hair washed and sat in front of the mirror, looking at his gray hair. He thought seeing himself like this would surely scare Ophelia.

His appearance hadn't changed, but the gray hair made him look a bit weathered.

After deciding the hair color, they began the dyeing process.

The next day, Finnegan, looking refreshed, changed into a suit. Lynn, holding Warmie, knocked on his door. When the door opened, she was stunned.

Seeing him dressed in a suit with his hair dyed back, Lynn felt like she was seeing the old Finnegan.

It turned out that only Ophelia could truly heal Finnegan.

Finnegan said in a deep voice, "Please take care of Warmie today. I'm going to see Ophelia."

His tone couldn't hide his joy—the joy and anticipation of seeing his beloved.

Warmie looked at Finnegan, dashing him and reached out her hand. "Daddy, hug."
