Chapter 331 Wishful Thinking

Hearing that Natalie did have a boyfriend and had been emotionally hurt, Ophelia couldn't wait to ask, "Does she have a child?"
Ophelia was so surprised that she asked directly.

As this question came out of the blue, Dovie asked Ophelia in surprise, "Why are you asking this? How do you know about these things?"
That was Natalie's secret. Even Dovie didn't dare to expose this wound. It had been so many years, and she pretended not to know anything about it.

Ophelia casually made up an excuse. "I heard it too. A friend saw Natalie go to the orphanage to find a child, so I asked. I was just curious. Don't worry. Dovie, I won't say anything."

"Natalie is looking for a child?" Dovie looked complicated, and hesitated to speak, "Where did she go to find a child? I've never dared to ask Natalie about this. This time she came back, I also feel like she has something on her mind."

"She probably is." Ophelia was not sure why Natalie was looking for her child. 'Since she had found, why not admit her?' Ophelia pondered.

Ophelia stopped asking further, as she was sure Natalie had a child.
Based on Natalie's behaviors and the words of Magnus and Dovie, Ophelia could only guess that Natalie didn't admit her because she didn't like her.
From their interactions, it was clear that Natalie didn't like her.
After seeing Dovie off at the door, Ophelia turned towards Finnegan's car.
After confirming some things, Ophelia felt a mess in her mind. She felt that something was off about the whole situation, but couldn't pinpoint what it was.

Finnegan played a soothing song to ease Ophelia's mood. "Ophe, how about this song?"

"It's fine." Ophelia had no mood to listen to music and gazed out of the window.
Back at Rose Garden, Ophelia lay down to rest. Finnegan didn't disturb her and quietly left the room.

After finishing her work, Lynn came back and learned about the incident. She went upstairs to check on Ophelia and saw Finnegan going downstairs. She asked, "How is Ophelia? What's going on? I heard Ophelia had a miscarriage?"

"No." Finnegan said, "It was a false alarm. She's not feeling well and just fell asleep."

Lynn breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good. What exactly happened? I've been busy with the dance studio and didn't have time to check my phone."

Finnegan gestured downstairs, indicating they should talk downstairs.
The two went downstairs, where the maid brought them a glass of juice and a cup of tea.

Finnegan explained, "Someone harmed Ophe by giving her abortion pills, but Old Abbott mistakenly took them. Now Old Abbott is in the hospital under observation. And the culprit, who is Ophe's best friend, is currently at the police station."

"Why would Ophelia's best friend do that to her? Is there some kind of grudge?" Lynn was particularly surprised. Despite her past grievances with Ophelia, she had never thought of harming Ophelia's unborn child, let alone harming her.

'To target an unborn child, it must be a deep-seated grudge.' She thought.

Finnegan intertwined his fingers, as several hours had passed since he learned about Seraphina's motives, but his mind was still unsettled.
"Human nature is always unpredictable." Finnegan said in a deep voice.

"Ophelia must be feeling terrible." Lynn glanced upstairs. The feeling of being hurt and betrayed by someone close was a significant blow.

Finnegan pondered, ‘As this incident had occurred, Ophelia's heart might not find peace for a while.’

Night fell.

The incident of Niamh breaking Ricky's leg had stirred his family to come and demand an explanation. Dovie had just arrived home and was dealing with the situation, feeling exhausted.
As Ricky had an affair, they knew they were in the wrong. After sending the visitors away, Dovie sat alone on the sofa, lost in thought.
As soon as they left, Niamh returned.
Seeing Dovie sitting on the sofa, Niamh walked over and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Is something bothering you? Is it true that something happened to Ophelia, a miscarriage?"

Niamh's tone was very gentle, with a hint of appeasement, a natural reaction since she found out she wasn't Dovie's daughter.
She no longer had the capital to be arrogant, she had to please Dovie.
Seeing Dovie's reaction, Niamh felt relieved as it indicated that something must have happened to Ophelia.
After boss's baby, she Escape
